Does anyone here wear these? There these bracelets that are rubbery and they come in all sorts of colors. I've seen these bracelets before in music videos. I've seen Avril Lavigne, Billy from Good Charlotte, Rancid and many other artists wear them. I wear them. I usually wear the black ones. Has any heard this whole "controversy" over these bracelets? Some teens have a code for each color of bracelet that represents different sexual acts. As a result of that, schools and parents are banning these bracelets left and right. I have to say, I am appalled. I wear these bracelets and look at them just as other accessory to go on my wrist. This whole thing about these bracelets makes me angry. Everyone at my school wears them and I know that most of them just wear them for a fashion statement and not to state their sex life. How dumb is this? They're just bracelets... Anyone have any opinions about this?
Are they really thin? If they are, one of my friends wears arond 30 on each arm. Black, pink, red, green, blue. It looks really cool. And I see lots of others wearing them. But I've never known of them as a refrence to their sex-lives. :wth: Deffinitly just another crock of ####.
Oh we call them Shag bands over here. If you give one to someone and they break it you have to....................use your imagination!!! I think it is stupid the way they say what they are and what they are for. They are plastic braclets for gods sake. No i haven't heard about the schools banning them. That's just stupid. Just because these kids think they are smart using them as a sign of sex doesn't mean that other people shouldn't be allowed to wear them simply for fashion. I wear them simply to accesorise not to make a statement about my popularity and sex life. It's stupid to me
I wear jelly bracelets frequently. Fortunately there's no controversy over them at my school because they are just bracelets. I've never heard of people using them to represent their sexual acts :wth:

But I've never heard anything about colours representing sex acts and habits, that's crazy. Not alot of people wear them, but they haven't been banned I don't see anything like that happening in my school.
That's just weird. I've actually debated buying them before, but I never did just because I don't wear bracelets much, but I know a lot of people who do...and I have never heard of them representing sexual acts... Schools ban a lot of stupid things, in my opinion...I know a lot of people who live in generally safe suburban areas where the schools ban wearing swearshirts with hoods on them because they have some kind of connection to gangs. I could understand banning wearing the hoods in school, but the fact that you can get suspended just for wearing the damn sweatshirt... Either way though, the ban doesn't really effect me...homeschooled
that's the stupidest thing i've ever heard! i wear them but i had no idea they represented something. i just thought the looked cool... thank god they're not banning them in my school. And yeah schools do ban a lot of stupid things my middle school banned these sugar straws once because people were using the straws for spitballs.. and they banned candy necklaces i don't now why and a million other things. in my opinion schools ban stupid things like rubber bracelets. BURN SCHOOL BURN!
There are many people who never knew that they represent sex acts. Hell, I didn't even know that until I was watching the news a few weeks ago. Oprah, Dr. Phil, ABC News and just about every other news channel out there has covered a story on the meaning of those bracelets. They haven't banned them yet at my school and they better not. I think this whole thing about those bracelets are getting out of hand. If you haven't heard about this whole thing, you're lucky.
I don't watch the news much, so you're the first person whom I've heard anything about this from...what were all these people saying about them?
i wear them as a fashion accessory but some ppl use them to state their sex life. its very sad, but hey thats their life not ours
I don't watch the news much, so you're the first person whom I've heard anything about this from...what were all these people saying about them? [/b][/quote] If you snap them, the person who snapped the bracelet is supposed to perform a sexual act on you depending on what colour the bracelet that they broke was. Black represents intercourse, pink is anal... the list goes on. For the record, that was their original intent, but kids weren't supposed to end up with them. It's just that they were sold in stores, and kids ended up learning what they actually "meant." To me, they're pretty pointless.
Is this the kind your talking about? If so, obviously I have quite the collection ;x. I'm addicted to them.
Ahaha either I look like a pervert or.. I don't know. Because I have black, red, rainbow ones, blue, pink, gray, green... I had no idea. My friend from Ontario even knew about it. I need to watch more tv or something.

I just thought kids made up all of that stuff. Yeah, I do think it's pretty pointless also and really lame.

Then the fact that you can buy those at places like Claire's is pretty f###ed up (no pun intended). I've known 10 year olds who shop at Claire's, and it's scary to think that they could end up buying a bracelet that's meant for hookups...uhg.
I only wear a lot of black ones. It's really annoying because people walk up to me and say "Yeah, I know what you are wearing those for!" I just tell them to f**k off and grow up. They haven't been banned here or nothing...
