Can you guys give me your opinion on Incubus? What do you like/love/hate about them? What makes them the untouchably best for some people? Is it their creativity or lyrics or musicality or a combination of these? Are they good at their instruments? How do their old albums like FungusAmongous (sp?) compare to Make Yourself and A Crow Left of the Murder? I REALLY want to know because I like some stuff on A Crow... like Sick, Sad, Little World, but other stuff just doesn't float my boat. Please give me your shpeel on them.
from what I know, I would guess 'make yourself' is like most other bands' albums (very produced and formulated to radio play), 'a crow' and the early albums have a lot of experimenting, and 'morning view' is a melodic walk across the beach. what do you guys think?
I think ACLOTM was Incubus trying to move in a different direction, it isn't better or worse than the other material, just different. IMO, 'Morning view' was Incubus trying to create another 'Make yourself' but I still like the album. As I said earlier I think 'Make yourself' is a masterpiece, I love this album. I think their older stuff like S.C.I.E.I.N.C.E is heavier, and a little more difficult to get into, but none the less still great. I also think their work for the Halo 2 soundtrack was pretty good too. Oh and I saw then live earlier this year, and they put on a great show.
Incubus is one of my favorite bands. "S.C.I.E.N.C.E." is by far their best CD and one of my top favorite albums.
cool. i'll try burn my friend's cd's of them and get into them, because they sound like a really fun band. very introspective and philosophical, and a great combination of what makes good music.
Make Yourself is my favorite CD of theirs but Morning View was the CD that had all the hits on it, I believe. I didn't like that CD much. Incubus is one of my favorite bands and they are absolutely amazing live.
Incubus is one of the greatest bands ever to me. They're funky, hard, mellow, groovy -- in all of their songs. They write really creative lyrics and the music itself seperates them from other bands out there. Brandon Boyd has a miracle voice as well.
