To any In Flames fans: I've been thinking of picking up one of their albums. Any songs you can suggest for me first? Death metal is a touchy subject with me and its hard for me to get used to the vox! If there anywhere close to Opeth I'll be a happy man Thanks!
I can't think of any track titles right now; but their new album, Soundtrack To Your Escape, proves that they're the greatest metal band on Earth. (In my opinion, obviously.)
Wow, I d/l 'The New World' and 'Trigger', and they are awesome! I'm currently really digging heavy stuff (i go in phases lol) and In Flames will certainly become one of my favourite bands! They sound like a heavier version of Opeth, with their own style of course! I think their sound is less 'gothic' and more aggressive. Much like Metallica with heavier vocals.
Wanna get into them, i really like that new single of them, The Quiet Place. Their sound reminds me of Slipknot, no matter how much the prefer being called death metal to nu metal
How on Earth does In Flames sound like Slipknot? I've been listening to In Flames and Slipknot both for about a year and a half now and I don't think they sound alike at all. Please, explain.
In Flames..! Oh, man; great stuff. A good beginner's album is Reroute to Remain because he actually sings on there. For an older album (once you get used to his death vocals), get Whoracle. They're going to tour with Killswitch Engage; I don't know if they're touring in your area but look out for it, Jeff! Some songs: Minus Dawn of a New Day December Flower Dead Eternity
Thanks for the songs, Kim! Killswitch Engage + In Flames = I'll definately have to look out for that. I saw 'The Jester's Race' at the local CD store, but opted out for an Opeth CD instead (review coming). I'll see what's there next time.
