Ok, so recently i've been getting all these back door file infecting my laptop and computer, and i'm just wondering if there is anyone can tell me exactly what they are/what they do and is there a way to prevent them from getting into my computer/laptop?

I keep getting rid of them with AVG Anti-Spyware but they keep coming back and it's getting tiring deleting them every other week. I've also got tons of protection on here but they just keep coming back.

The latest one i have just found is called Backdoor.Pcclient.gv

    Any help appreciated ^_^

heres a good definition i found

they usually make changes to the system registry

a common way for these to appear is through downloaded programs...do you often download programs off the internet? if you do, be sure and read reviews at sites like download.com, to see if anyone else is getting viruses from those programs

Jnudda - Honestly, how is that supposed to help? Backdoor = bad; nuff said.

A few things you can do:

    start > run > msconfig
Check under the startup tab for anything weird. If you think something shouldn't be there, google it's name.

Disable System Restore. I know it sounds like a crazy thing to do, but if a virus is hiding in there, that's the only way you get get rid of it when it's in there. You can re-enable it after you're assured your system is now clean.

After that, you can always try going into safe mode, then scanning then, since nothing can start up automatically apart from system required processes, meaning your backdoors can't protect themselves.

Something's hiding and keeps downloading itself back.

    Thank you Meghna

Tomi: Thanks for the help ^_^ I tried the first thing and everything seems to be fine there. I'll get my Mum to boot things up in safe mode at some point and try that before disabling system restore. Thanks again

Oops, overlooked that part of the post.

Just an obvious note, Debs: Even though you stopped them from running at startup, they still reside in your computer, so make sure you clean your computer soon.
