BitTorrent is awesome for movies/tv shows. Just use Suprnova.org (not.com). I also use IRC for tv shows and mp3s, and Kazaa for videos. And Missy, you don't need to be afraid. You can PM me any time if you have doubts about making a topic, or you can use the search function if you think it may be a duplicate.
BT hates me. I use DC++ for videos, WinMX, Shareaza, eMule, and eDonkey for mp3s, and mIRC for pretty much any other files (including whole albums).
Some people are funny. 'I stopped using KaZaA because I got a virus'. When you use P2P you have to use common sense. A full game isn't going to be 56kb . Also, the internet is flooded with virii. By now you should have a good antivirus. The last couple of years, P2P has really gone straight down the sh*tter. My advice is to learn IRC. Fserve and XDCC transfers are 100% better than that P2P crap. As for spyware. It can't simply screw a computer up. It might slow it down a little, but it can't screw it up. Neither can Adware. Just get a good antivirus and AdAware and you'll be fine.

Two programs I use 1. Gluz Pros: Music downloads fast, can have multiple search windows open, no spyware (i think), no popups Cons: can't think of any now 2. Kazaa Lite K++ Pros: I searched for spy/adware (ran ad-aware) before I installed this and after, found only 1 thing after install, many more search results for videos. , no popups Cons: only one search window,
What can you tell me about WinMX?
I downloaded winMX and for some reason it froze my computer and proceeded to tell me i downloaded the Israeli Version... yeah it was weird
I tried Bit Torrent and it NEVER connects with other users. And when it miraculously does, it's like 1 KB/s. :wth: I like how it's not an actual program or whatever like Kazaa though.
Kazaa Lite K++ is a great program. Even better than WinMX or SoulSeek, imo. There's virtually no spyware attached and I find that my download rates are always faster. The only down side is, like Glenn said, only one search window. I always find it hard to connect with Bit Torrent but when it does, it's not too bad and I can resume downloads anyway. I've used it to download a lot of programs over 100 MB.
A computer screwed up by a virus? Impossible or almost. If you format, there's a way back. If you forgot a screwdriver end in your case (d'oh) and it went in your fan, maybe it's then screwed up (mine survived) .
That's why you have to get stuff hot off the presses. If something was just released, more people will be downloading/uploading it, which means more seeds to download from. I get albums at 100kb/sec.
bt is pretty good but the only con about it is that you have to share at least half of wat you download. in most places you have to upload the same amount that you download, or you will get banned from the tracker.
Oh man my friend had like 30 virus processes running in his background and when his dad took out his fan to see what was up, the fan was so hot it melted to their table.
Shareaza, eh? I might try it later but I'm pretty happy with Limewire at the moment. And I'll keep trying with Bit Torrent, though, maybe something newer like Mark said.
Hmm...okay so I downloaded Kazaa Lite, but downloads take forever...Usually 40 minutes +. whereas if I get them off an internet site they take around 10 or 15 minutes. Will try LimeWire next.

How in the hell would a bunch of Malware running in the background make the computer hotter? Especially the fan? Not possible.
