I thought i'd make a new topic for this. Now that the album "One Day Remains" has been internationally released, i'd just like to know what your thoughts are on them? I personelly think the album is amazing, there is not one average song on the album, they are all brilliant IMO, which is strange because i was never the biggest Creed fan. Also, on 17th Spetember i got to see them live in London @ The ULU. It could only hold like 400 people and it was probably the best gig and day in my life, it was truly amazing. I also took some pictures, you can check out the pics on a friends livejournal here. We were so close, It's unreal. There was no barrier, mind the first few pics of me and my friends.
I don't like Alter Bridge. To Me, they sound exactly like Creed and I never liked Creed. I did give their album a listen, but i dont like it at all.
I was a fan of the older Creed material but became distant form them when Scott Stapp turned into a jackass. But now i like Alter Bridge cause the lead singer is great and it gives the boys a new life. The album is pretty decent but i wouldn't say it's flawless. There are some really good songs and some kinda crappy ones, but overall they are decent.
I can understand where you are coming from when you say you don't like Alter Bridge because you didn't like Creed, because it's basically the same genre/style of music, but band wise they are very different. Alter Bridge has given the band a chance to differ themselves from Creed and put more of an influence from their preffered styles of playing, mainly because Scott Stapp wasn't to open for that in Creed. An example of this is that Mark Tremonti can now shred and and pull off solos during songs whereas Stapp didn't like solos. I wasn't a big fan of Creed, but for some reason the new AB album has enticed me and i think it's brilliant. Myles Kennedy suites the band perfectly and i think the album is very different from anything Creed put out. Listen to songs like Metalingus & Watch Your Words and you can see that Alter Bridge is alot more open to influence than Creed ever was.
Does Alter-Bridge talk about Jesus and that crap like Creed used to? Because that's a HUGE turn-off for me in a band.
Ive only heard 'Open your eyes' or whatever its called. I like the music and the instrumental structure but Im not that keen on the vocalist
"Jesus and that crap." Hmm thats so terrible. This is coming form a guy who doesn't go to church or really even have a religion. But why do people have to knock a band because of their christian beliefs? On top of that how did Creed always just talk about Jesus?

Scott Stapp didn't openly talk about Jesus, but most of the songs have under-lining Christian themes to them. Also, if a band had under-lining...Buddhist themes, for example, and they broke up and some members formed another band, I'd ask that same question, only replace Jesus with Siddhartha/Buddha. EDIT: Also, I have a religion, thank you. I'm one of those Satanists that believes that they are their own God and they make their own path in life. But that's another thread on it's own.

I think you need to relax, because your attack on December was uncalled for and you should read posts before you yell at someone. December wasn't insulting Jesus or the Christian religion, and was merely saying that he doesn't like music with religious undertones. For some people (myself included), hearing people talking about religion and loving one another in their music can be annoying. A lot of people want to hear music that they can relate to in their everyday lives, and if they aren't exactly the most religious person, they aren't going to be able to relate to music of that type. To claim that he doesn't have any sort of religion is extremely ignorant. Just because he might not believe in Jesus does not mean that he doesn't have a religion, and if you're the type of guy who believes that, then I don't know what to tell you. There are more than just christians out there (Buddhists, Muslims etc) and not everyone is going to believe in Jesus Christ. You need to give December an apology, because if you ask me, that post of yours was unnecessary and it could even be offending to some people who aren't Christian.
Alter Bridge were one of the awesome bands i found yesterday while i was looking at the billboard charts. I found alot of others too like Crossfade and Silvertide. I like their style alot and it didn't remind me of Creed at all.

Sorry if you misunderstood me, I guess i didn't write it very clear but what i meant about not being christian is myself. I was just trying to make my point more valid by saying that i have no christian background nor do i really have any religion. I was just a little ticked of that when people have to address christian music they have to go about it by saying they "sing aobut jesus and that kinda crap." There is no reason to have to say its crap, sure if you don't like it you don't like it, but you don't have to call it crap.
