Am I the only one who thinks that this could've easily made the album, instead of the one that we have? It seems so beautiful and abstract, with a dark tone and warm piano. Lyrics: "We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent. I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita. Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty, and to impress him, takes on his multi-armed form, and says, Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds." And when I close my eyes tonight/ To symphonies of blinding light/ Like memories in cold decay/ Transmissions echoing away/ "I suppose we all thought that, one way or another"
He's talking about the version played on the Buenos Aires show. The quality is crappy, but you can get an idea.
Yes they are. 3:25 (ish). Singing lyrics start at 4:23. I think this was created more to serve as an interlude between Numb and Breaking the Habit in the live show (it takes the place of that simple piano solo Mike's been doing for the last several years to connect Numb to other songs). It wouldn't fit on the album very well IMO because it wouldn't work between The Requiem and Burning in the Skies. I don't think having lyrics from The Catalyst in both of the intro tracks would flow well, it would take some of the effect away from the "lift me up/let me go" theme that's teased during Jornada Del Muerto later.
Here's a proshot vid, everyone. I love this version.
The piano chords sound similar to Pushing Me Away (the piano version). Of course, I prefer the one on the album.
Haha, that video made me go WTF a couple times. First time it was Mike's voice changer, the second, Joe's hairdo However, that is probably the best performance of Breaking The Habit in a long time.
It feels like it should have made the cut, because it sounds a little different. I bet people would've said the same thing for the album version if that hadn't made the cut lol. It's all in the mind. Haha I thought the same thing. That whole part, including that last record-skipping effect on Oppenheimer's speech, kind of comes off as funny instead of serious.
