I've been seeing a lot of new threads containing fan made music and career music being put in the writer's block section, why not come up with a new subforum for actual music instead of leaving it in writer's block?

I don't really see why this is necessary when there is the Other Music forum that people could be posting in.

I don't think it's a bad idea considering the fact that it would really help identify to people what music belongs to members of the site, but I also think that that's part of why the "Other Music" forum exists. It allows not only for other popular music but also for fan made / career music.

So I guess it's not entirely necessary, but it's something that we can consider.

Maybe we could make a pinned thread in OM for this purpose. I don't foresee the forum getting enough activity to sustain itself.

What about a subforum? I think that be a lot better than a single thread.
If you had a single thread, then you might have like 2, or 3 different discussion going on and it would be a mess.

That's what the Other Music forum is for. To post your music and other music you hear/like.

I think it would be much better with a special sub-forum. They would get recognized more.

I guess I see your point. The only thing is would it be used often, and is there really anyway to justify it? I think it would be nice to give it a "test-drive" if you will, to see if it would actually be used, or if it doesn't see much action at all.

The only thing is, is that Forum doesn't get hardly any attention at all, so when you are trying to get something out there to the public, you would be able to get more people following along on your project by posting in a more active forum, like the Other Music forum.

I agree with Mark. While the idea itself is good, I do believe a forum, or even a sub-forum, won't be able to sustain itself. A pinned thread in Other Music would suffice.

Once again, you couldn't discuss several albums in there, otherwise it would be a mess.

How about just adding to the Writer Block? or Artists Studio?
WRITERS: Share your stories, poems, lyrics and music here.
ARTISTS: Show off your artwork and music, and marvel at others' work.

Adding new forums is not productive. If anything we need to compress some of these forums, but I fear that would hide people away.

The best place for recognition is the place where most people visit: Other Music. If you're not content with a pinned thread, and I do see your point about getting lost in the discussion, the best way to garner attention would be to continue posting threads devoted to your own personal music in OM.

I think the reason these threads are passed over is not because they don't have a specific place to be highlighted, but rather because the interest simply isn't there for the average browser. That's just my take.
