You can check out another Linkin Park interview clip from MTV where you can hear them talk about critics and fan response to A Thousand Suns, as well as Chester detailing his two favourite tracks on the album as "Iridescent" & "Waiting For The End". "...As long as we do that, and we feel happy with the record we put out, then it's like, 'OK, we've done our best, and if you like it, great, and if you don't, go find something that you like." "I think that 'Waiting for the End' and 'Iridescent' are probably tied at #1 [for my] favorite song on the record," he said. "I just think they're really beautiful. They're different. I like the way 'Iridescent' builds and climaxes, I like the summertime vibe of 'Waiting,' and I like the lyrical content of it all, and the dynamic, too." Well said Chester. God, all the non-constructive negative comments and moaning is annoying me so much!
This got posted on LP's Facebook as well, and I forced myself to click the comments button... yeah, half of the comments are still whining about how they hate the new album, when the title is pretty much a middle finger to them. People need to learn to read.
i think its just awesome that they continue to not give a damn about what the haters think..we think they are being completely truthful and awesome..the haters probably think they are being assholes for saying that when they really arent..they just dont care about what the critics say. I respect the band alot especially with brushing the hate off their shoulders and not lettin it get to them.
Haha, I find the facebook comments funny! I swear those people never even read what Chester said. 'This is rubbish, we want meteora!' or whatever someone wrote. So like he said, go find something you like. See ya!
Chester cool stepped in there during one of his sentences man...its almost like he was so close to saying "go bleep yourself", but no really, its a great attitude to have in the biz.
idk..Allegheny County..Robinson Twp..im ORIGINALLY from there but im currently at school at Slippery Rock
so true .. These two songs are like soul of the album .. without these tracks nothing much is there to listen
This is how I feel when I've made some songs. I make them for me first, and if other people like them, then it's a plus. But I'm not doing it for other people. I'm not making a living off of it and it's just something I do that makes me feel creative. People not liking my creations isn't going to make me love making songs any less.
That it's exactly how I feel when I write songs, it's about enjoying the creative process and the final creation, and that's why I agree with LP. For me that's what makes the difference between an artist and some band/person who makes music just to make some money...and that's why, even if i don't like all LP songs (btw I love ATS :d), I will still respect their work and admire their dedication to music.
Their fav songs are always the ones chosen to be singles... But I'm not so sure about the truth of that. They aren't the ones who get the last word on singles so...
Yeah, I dunno. They seemed really high on TLTGYA when MTM was released but it wasn't released as a single. BTW, as much as I love ATS, I still think that song (TLTGYA) is the best single song they've written. There's a bit of useless info for ya.
