Linkin Park always sells fewer and fewer copies which each album. Sucks, but they're still doing really well, they're probably hitting number one and that's one of the biggest sales weeks this year.

They weren't going to be the multi-million selling juggernaut they were 10 years ago forever you know.

Probably 95% of that is due to how many people no longer buy CDs. Did anyone know how to pirate back in 2000? Not many.

Have you seen iTunes? It has 1000 1 star ratings, MTM doesn't... I think ATS was the "final straw" for a lot of "major" LP fans.

A projected sales of 250K in its first week is nothing to jeer at in an age where free downloading and filesharing are in vogue. Linkin Park isn't the juggernaut it used to be but I can almost guarantee that this album will receive at least Platinum certification in the U.S. Any less is just underestimating the dedication of a fan base that put a debut album into Diamond territory.

It should have been expected that 'A Thousand Suns' was bound to sell "less".

The sound of the album is hard pill to swallow for the majority of average Linkin Park music goers.

The early leak of the album

    The hardcore Hybrid-Theory-Only-or-no-talk fanatics.

In any case, I'm optimistic that sales will still take leaps up ahead in the upcoming months. Good luck Linkin Park!

Looks like they will be No. 2 here in the UK. Guess I underestimated the power of The Script  currently about 4,000 copies behind.

Oh and Gold in the UK is a lot less as the country is smaller but I'm not sure the exact amount.

In a way I'm not surprised the sales are low. It's a tad disappointing, but it's partly because of the sound (which I love but others don't) and the times that we are in.

I am pleased that the HMV music store near me has LP posters everywhere inside and outside, and they are playing the album over and over! :headbang:

Let's be fair, a lot of those "major" fans probably picked up Meteora as their first Linkin Park album. In 2005.

I hate reading all the stupid comments on itunes. People are saying LP sold out to make more radio songs. lol they must not realize that meteora i think had the most radio played time and in the end. And the band has said they know this album isnt as radio friendly and they made it that way, if they wanted to be on the radio they would go make a quick 3 minute song. I hate people that dont know what there talking about

Best-selling is, I think, "Recovery" or "Need You Now".

Linkin Park dropped to #5 selling 36.8 thousand units in the second week. What does this mean? Hardly a damn thing really. Several new records came out this week and none of them broke 100k. The Zac Brown Band (who?) was #1 and it had trouble breaking 75,000.
