Yeah, Rob said in an LPU chat that he might have to add an electric kit to his live set up so he could play some of the new songs.

they will definatel have electrodrum pads. Mike said that rob could possibly play another instrument live (same for brad and dave)

 

Not recently, back in March. I think he just had 2 or 3 triggers on the last tour.

A couple things he said-
-"I've been experimenting with a lot of new drum sets, I'm actually going to try a lugwig kit similar to one that John Bonham played on."
-"Last week I tuned my drum kit to sound like tribal drums, and created 6 layers of drum tracks that sounded like 10 people playing drums together. Don't know if it will make the record, but it was fun making."
-"The drums on the new record are a mix of electronic and live. There's definitely some really cool electronic sounds that are different than what we've done before, and those songs are sounding better without live drums. I might have to add an electronic kit to the live show which would be cool."

This along with the idea of having all the band members switching instruments for certain songs makes me extremely happy.

 

My thoughts exactly!!! You can't criticise LP for moving in a new direction when you look at it the way Mike describes it in the interview. Even if you don't like the new direction... ( AND THAT'S NOT EVEN POSSIBLE!!! lol )

I'm pretty excited for the whole live thing. What a bout stage setup, setlists and stuff? Can't wait to see this

 

I guess we'll be getting initial reports on that from the first few concert performances.
