I meant I'll believe these words when I hear the album.

I'm pretty sure they don't exactly care how the fans react. They've stated in these letters, in chats, and interviews that they're making this album because THEY want to.

I assume it's the "Gilmore effect" still in action; write a song and keep it deliberately vague enough to where the maximum amount of people will identify with it.

    .....???

    is this real?
I mean, never thought LP could write s'thing sharp like that
they kind of "metal" band, right?
    ^_^ brilliant !
even my prof in college, would problably NOT able to
    so...
if its really true .. (the Letter)
it just proved once again that they are really one of the greatest band ever. smart. sharp. as a band. as person. (i did heard that they are very cool too in artshow. excess dies??, tattoo club?:) )

then, when it comes to ATS
I really think, whatever our feeling and react to,
for what their believe, effort, artpureness,en courage on the making of it,
    they do deserve our respect

You fail at Journey songs. You should've embraced it with Open Arms, but you're obviously not into Faithfully sticking with a random tangent in the conversation.

Looking over it again I'm not sure it is quite so well written, not that it matters though. But verbosity =/= writing skill.

On an off-topic note, I actually think Gilmore produces better sounding records than Rubin.. maybe not musically, but in terms of overall loudness and balance. Rubin seems to have a total disregard for sound engineering 'rules' and prefers to create a soundscape that's new and unique, even if it's pushed to the limit. i.e. Death Magnetic. Rubin also seems gives a lot of creative freedom to bands which is good, but sometimes bands need a bit of a 'leash' to get the best sound out of them. It's one of those bitter-sweet things about producers.

I'd imagine a lot of teeniebopper heads are going to explode come mid-Septmeber, if ATS does indeed do what it's being touted as.

I'm positive that second one was written by Brad.

Thats quite a marvelous letter right there. So much in it, it needs to be read a few more times for it to complelty sink in.

I really hope the album lives up to the hype, cause what I've been getting from it so far is that its gonna be experimental & alternative as hell. No more poppy/radio friendly hits. No more waterdown lyrics and simplified musicianship. No more teeny pop fanbase/sterotype (one hopes!) Only real honest music, that will give the band the respect there due after all these years.

Every band cares what their fans say and what the critics say, even if they won't admit it. I mean, just put yourself in their shoes. Everyone's done something artistic in their life, or something they're proud of -- whether it's for school, work or fun. Don't you always care what someone else says, even if you won't admit it vocally? If a teacher grades an essay you did and you find it overly harsh, don't you think, "whatever, she just doesn't get it, I think it's awesome!"? It's because you want recognition for your work. Everyone does. It's natural human emotion.

i think it is quite nice to have a "press" release by the band themselves instead of Warner having one out. the anticipation builds up with every day nearing the ATS release ;)

A remix album would be amazing! Either completely remix all of ATS or select random songs from Meteora/M2M/A Thousand Suns. And another live album is going to happen. Whether you like it or not

they're making an album that they want to make and moving away from the past. it's a great day to be a Linkin Park fan! <3 Whatever the album sounds like, whether I like it or not, I'll keep that in mind.

Just from what I've heard of The Catalyst I feel an ATS remix album would be epic.
