The last 3 minutes gives me the chills. Definitely much better than listening to a bunch of snippets of the song.
I definitely see where you guys are coming from with being annoyed with the amount of repeating. But I advise that you listen with good quality headphones. The instrumental aspect of this song flourishes and the last two minutes over all. This may sound that much greater when you hear the 13 songs leading up to it.
With this song, I suddenly remembered Reanimation. I am biased in favor of odd song structures and electronic beats.
this was definitely a refresher for me. i am glad LP changed its musical styles for this album and i am pumped for the release
I really like it! I can see where the people that don't think it sounds good are coming from though. My brother was complaining about it because it had "no instruments"
Now that I've heard the whole song, I feel a little "meh" about it. Things that detracted from its value: - Mr. Hahn's scratching was pretty crappy. I think he forgot how to scratch in the 7 years since he's actually done it on an album. - No real transitional lyrics. I mean, I'm glad they didn't stick to their normal song structure, but they instead took the Lady GaGa route and repeated everything 30 times. - The song has a nice buildup, sure, but it takes far too long to get to the "good" stuff, meaning the end of the song. I actually think I like the Medal of Honor trailer better than the full song. - Horrible use of synth. Seriously, I like Pendulum, but this weak attempt at drum & bass is not all that impressive. - Drums, which are fantastic, should have been featured more throughout the song. No, not the electronic drums. - Overproduced vocals ... there's so much distortion on the vocals. I can't tell if they were doing it to cover up Mike's singing or what? Any ideas? Positives: + Drumming is very nice. + The last two minutes of the song is sort of exciting. + Piano, while a basic loop, at least sounds decent. Overall, I'm pretty disappointed. I didn't really hold all that much hope for the song, and it didn't change my opinion at all. The fan remixes of the song are considerably better, to be honest. 4/10, maybe? I do think this song will feel better to me when it's heard with the rest of the album, in sequence, like it's meant to be.
can anyone Check this image ? http://www.linkinpark.com i mean the catalyst artwork ... if there is anyone behind the Image .....? ?
I pre-ordered from linkinpark.com & haven't gotten an email for the single. Did everyone else get theirs??
The only gripe I have with the song is it's Bleed it Out-syndrome, where the same lyrics are basically repeated. The music itself is awesome, and is quite epic. Reminds me of a mix between Minutes to Midnight and Reanimation. All the tech sounds remind me of Enter Shikari, who fucking rule. Good, I'm glad you did.
I wish my receipt would change from "pending" to "shipped" really soon because I really want to hear the album and how they made it!!!!
That's what I did. I put on my headphones and listen different kinds of sound elements going on. Pretty Awesome.
And btw what a memorbale night for LP fans. Both LPA and LPL crashed for almost half an hour, Lowe must rarely have seen that many people waiting for one song to be played on his show. That only tells you how much the fans care about the band and their work. And thanks LPA for letting us follow all the action on Twitter when the site was down, great work all of you guys.
God bless us everyone, We're a broken people living under loaded gun, And it can't be outfought, It can't be outdone, It can't be outmatched, It can't be outrun, NO! And when I close my eyes tonight, To symphonies of blinding light, (God bless us everyone, We're a broken people living under loaded gun, OH!) Like memories in cold decay, Transmissions echoing away, Far from the world of you and I, Where oceans bleed into the sky. God save us everyone, Will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns, For the sins of our hand The sins of our tongue The sins of our father The sins of our young NO!
