X96 Radio to Play The Catalyst Today

Well get your facts straight before you post your opinion, I went well out of my way to confirm this and because it didn't pay off doesn't make it false. It was true at the time of reporting. You are becoming a real negative influence on these boards, and your opinion is hardly constructive, it's just a reaction from your disappointment you should be directing at X96, not us.

 

That is incorrect. We research everything thoroughly before we post it. Even this news post. So again, I must respectfully ask you to please get that idea out of your head.

Also, I must dispute a statement you made earlier as well. While I am happy you think of us this way, we are not a "public news outlet". Instead we are a fansite for the band, and a resource for Linkin Park. We do not have the same press credentials as a major news organization, and cannot gain the same privilege that CNN, MSNBC or Rolling Stone would have respectively.

However, for anyone who feels the need to confront us on the way this news has unfolded, let me be the first to remind all of you that we have been 100% right with every other news story that has come out with the band over the past few weeks. We were correct with the exclusive tracklisting, we were correct with the exclusive artwork, and Mike Shinoda himself even praised our album/"message" reporting on his blog as being top notch.

Even with us going out of our way to confirm a news story (like we did here) there's always going to be instances where the news doesn't play out as it should. It happens to even the best places (CNN, FOX, BBC, ABC, MSNBC etc) and it's a fact of the media.

This radio station misleaded their listeners, and the blame lies squarely on them. We we're just relaying what we were told personally from the radio station, and we were lied to about the clips/song. We can't help that, and I would greatly respect if you'd politely back off of your criticism and understand this wasn't our fault.

 

I think it's regrettable that we spend hours searching for the most informative, best (and sometimes exclusive) news stories all day...only to be insulted and have our news ethics questioned because ONE post didn't turn out to be accurate like we thought it was. It's not only hurtful and disrespectful, it's also a slap to the face to the staff of this great site who go out of our way to make sure we keep being one of the best [if not the best] LP fansites available.

No matter what way you twist it Akira, you were wrong to come at us the way you did...and the reaction from everyone else on these boards (not just staff) should be prime evidence of that. We love the LPA, and we treat it as if it were our own child...so naturally we will defend it when it's credibility comes under question. How dare you say the things you do, when you do not pay over a 100 a month to keep this site running, do not work tirelessly (sometimes with little sleep) to keep the fans properly informed, and certainly do not know what it's like to run a fansite. Your insinuations are arrogant and rude, considering your lack of knowledge on how much effort Joe put into this post.

You have no idea what you are talking about, are blaming the WRONG people for this mistake. Write X96 with your complaints. Ask them why their broadcasters lied to us that the song would be out today, and why they said this to their listeners over 3 times live on air. Take your criticism there, and not here, because if you continue to disrespect the job that I, and the site's hardworking staff do everyday, without knowing everything that went down behind the scenes...I will personally make sure you cannot access these forums again. Consider this your last and final warning. We work hard to get fans the news, and I will not stand for such rampant disrespect of people like Joe, who are a class act and care only about making sure the fans are happy and informed.

Hmm, possibly. However the first LPTV clip that came out could be a verse. The "burning in the skies of a thousand suns, with the sins of our.. etc". A pretty unconventional verse but I don't know what else they could be, haha.

 

If I'm not mistaken, I believe that one french review said that the verse + chorus wasn't very obvious. That the song was risky cause it didn't have a clear structure to it.
