Sounds interesting...Not sure about those drums though. Transition is ok. Shouldn't be too long before a full stream or a leak shows up, I'm guessing by tomorrow or the day after we'll have the entire thing.

Oh man I hope not. If this album turns out to be what I think it will, then it'll truly confirm my feelings about this band. They no longer have it.

Exactly. I feel Rick's influence on the band has been a tad too much and it's LPs fault that they've let this happen. He's pretty much restructured the band with the ideas he's presented them. But hey LP is going along with it so what the hell.

I think we're pretty much witnessing the end of Linkin Park and it started with MTM. We'll see what they have left.

It's best to approach this song (and the album itself) with an open mind. Just because LP isn't doing a rehash of HT or Meteora doesn't mean they're coming to an end.

Because MTM sold sooo poorly and got no radio play.

Not gonna respond to these comments anymore unless they really bother me...

Exactly, on the contrary in my mind. This is the BEGINNING of Linkin Park.

Well that's your opinion and I respect it, But in my opinion, LP really started with MTM. For me it's the best album.

You do realize that record sold due to their previous reputation, correct? People bought MTM because of the reputation they had built before it. You also do realize that it was the lowest rated Linkin Park album, correct?

You don't know much about Rick Rubin then. All he's done is give them an environment where they can move on and develop, and try things they wouldn't have before. He's actually very capable of being pretty hands-off, sometimes notoriously so... basically, chances are the direction they're taking is down to the band members themselves as much as anyone.

The worst thing he could do is upload it on youtube. Just have him upload it on a file-sharing site and say "whoever wants it can PM me."

Are you serious right now? My answer to that rant of yours is right within your very post.

It's his influence that led them down the read they're in right now. He had an impact on the way the band does things.

I disagree. Ive been listening to Linkin Park since 2000. I honestly think their old sound is anything but outdated. Surrounding themselves with that same genre would ultimately end Linkin Park. The old sound work back then because it was fresh. Its an out dated form of music. There are only certain elements that are still able to be used out of old LP. Continuing with their old style would have sent them back in circles. The new stuff is now fresh and its an experimental taste to music and the band as they grow. Minutes To Midnight was only the stepping stone to something even better. They had to take that first step to understand themselves as a band and where they were in general. Im diggin where there going and its only the beginning of LInkin Park.

I will wait and see till the album drops. Right now it's too early for me to call the beginning of LP with this album. Up to this date I consider Reanimation the beginning of Linkin Park. This that's coming out now, I can't find something distinctive to define them. I rather listen to another band that probably does it better or is distinctive of that sound than hear this band trying to replicate or emulate what people consider "rock music", this has been the whole problem as to why LP has been re-arranged to having a new producer, guitar solos, and more singing parts for Chester. Ain't it?

Dean is right. Anyone who thinks this is Rubin's fault has no idea how Rubin works. He steers a band in a direction that THEY ask him to steer them in.

This is all Linkin Park's choice. Let's not try to blame Rubin.
