Listening to it again, I'm loving how mature these lyrics are compared to their older stuff. The fact that they're even mentioning the words "God" and "sins" is proof enough.

EDIT: And just hearing the "A Thousand Suns" line makes me like the actual album title much more. The same way that I appreciated Tool naming their last album "10,000 Days" after hearing the line that it came from.

Yeah, they were all like, "Guys, we're gonna have a song that sounds exactly like 'New Divide' on the new album. We're not gonna pull any new tricks with that one."

I'd be so much more pumped for this if I liked it. That said, I am sure the song will be great when we hear the whole thing.

But seriously, I can't tell if these kids are trolling or they're really that out of touch

    1. The people who love the Linkin Park we had before 2007 are the same people who can't accept change. They want Hybrid Theory and Meteora in the worst way, and will forever hate on everything Linkin Park does that sounds different from those two albums. These people also shat on Minutes to Midnight.

    2. You have the people that accept change, and while have an honest opinion about what they hear, can still accept change and can still cope and understand what the band is doing. These people learn to grow with the band, grow in life, and mature and expand their likeness for music and appreciate what artists create.

i find that the majority of the LPN fans are pretty out of touch with the band and dont seem to get it when LP does something new.

    This.

If it isn't Hybrid Theory or Meteora, and if it isn't Mike and Chester singing about pain and what they feel, then it's complete shit. There are too many close minded people in this world. But, with that, there's reasons why I don't give a fuck if people like what they hear or not because when it comes down to it, it only matters if I like it or not because it's going to be playing through my system, my speakers, and only heard in my world.

Geez, the firestorm on the Youtube comments is awful. But then again Youtube has never been a place for intelligent comments...

Anyway, with the clip it's kinda tough to judge right now - I definitely didn't expect it to sound quite like this, but I'm not complaining - this is the beginning of an entirely new era of the LP sound, and if people can't accept that, they need a new band to like.

i love the Linkin Park before 2007 but love them even more now..i can accept change..anything they touch is amazing..i cant help it..they cannot ever disappoint me. They all mature and when they do, so does their sound and its just awesome. I have supported them since Day 1..Hybrid Theory EP till now...so all them people who stopped liking the band after Minutes to Midnight cant accept change as u said..yes i love the first 2 albums but Minutes to Midnight took my breath away...then came New Divide and i jam out to it STILL after over a year old and im soooo looking forward to "The Catalyst" coming out and "A Thousand Suns" to come out as well..its killing me inside to wait lol

This is my first post here so I will try to be succinct:

People are afraid of change. This is clearly change. I welcome this change with open arms. The music of 2010 sounds exactly like the music of 2000, and the music of '95 and frankly I cannot think of another decade in American history where we have allowed that much time to go on without any significant change to our musical stylings. This album may be the answer to my hopes in that it changes everything.

Frankly, I think Linkin Park tried to hard on MtM. I love the album, I love the songs, but it did lack the flow that I believe characterized everything they had done up until that point. Judging by this short clip I think they have not only restored that flow but capitalized on it to do exciting new things. I welcome this new LP album with open arms and you all should too — if for no other reason than that you're fans.
