Lupe Fiasco's Lasers Album - Petition

Hey everyone,
As some of you may be aware, Lupe Fiasco collaborated with Mike Shinoda on his Fort Minor project, as well as having Mike produce a track on his second studio album, and providing a song for Download to Donate.

However, he is currently struggling to have his third studio album released by his record label. They have withheld the album for more than a year. I've seen a few Lupe fans on this site, and some have questioned as to why the album has not yet been released, despite two singles and a tour promoting the album.

Recently, a few fans got tired of waiting and decided to petition to Atlantic asking for answers regarding the album status and/or release date.
The news has been circulating in some hip-hop news websites, as well as MTV News and Billboard.com

Lupe has been made aware of the petition and fully supports the effort of his fans and even released a remix to thank us. Along with this, Atlantic are also aware there is a petition going on. However, they have not yet made an official statement.

With currently 15,000+ signatures, we're hoping to continue the number of signatures to raise awareness.

So, I would like to request all of you to sign this petition and pass it on to others who may be interested.

I wonder how long it will take this album to get to 500K? 1 year? 2?

I've never understood the hype for this guy, honestly.

 

First single was released July last year. Atlantic have told people it's been coming soon, since then. Not even Lupe has been told a release date. Despite being promised one back in April.

 

Apologies for the double post, however I wanted to give an update.
We made it to CNN.
