    Following on from our A Thousand Suns pre-order information, linkinpark.com have now released full details as to what we can expect from the physical album package:

    Special Edition CD / DVD Set
    "A holographic, foil board digipak case that contains the album and the making of A Thousand Suns documentary."

    I can't say for sure but it sounds like they have taken the packaging very serious this time around, and this updated information is great for people wanting more from the SE. I can imagine the center maybe being silver, either that or the album will change from black / white, replicating the standard edition as well as the SE when it is in motion. Maybe some of our other members can give some insight to other bands that have played with this formula on their releases.

    So this is the packaging for the ~25 dollar CD+DVD right? Because I already pre-ordered that one. The huge crazy special edition and the skateboard were a lil too expensive for me :/

    Yes, this IS the Special Edition. It will be the one on store shelves, the one you can order from Amazon and anywhere else that is selling the Special Edition.

    Just because in the Deluxe Set description it says:

    "CD and DVD digipaks that contain"

    As in, seperate digipacks.


    And the answer Mike gave to one of the questions on his blog
    "And by the way…the Regular CD, Mid-level CD/DVD, and the Box Set will all have different art booklets."

    I knew it was going to be. When the image of the album first came out I told my fiancée I bet it will be holographic because of the way it fades out. Awesome!:lazars:

    Ah, I see what you mean now. Then maybe this isn't the version you get with the Deluxe Edition. Maybe the DVD & CD will have their own separate special Digipaks? After all, Mike did say all three versions of the album have different art in them (Original, Special Edition, Deluxe).

    I want everything! All versions of the album! D: . I will be mad when I get the special edition because I want too the normal version (Special edition= Holographic, Normal edition= Normal) I want the two! :(
