My nipple would be a better album cover.

 

As much as I respect everyones opinions, I find it to be very shallow to say that it isn't art. So I'll give my thoughts. When I look at this image, I see what I interpret to be the final sights before you die. Like the last image before they reach a new level of creativeness. They are transcending normal imagery and becoming far more abstract than they could ever put into a image that we would be able to identify with... Or maybe I'm insane in the membrane?

I like the album cover, but why black and white like MTM? I don't like the idea of having 2 linkin park albums the same color...but LP has the power to do whatever the want...they're powerful.

i wouldnt go that far and say that they are omnipresent. but yes, LP is im sure at a position where they can release whatever the hell they want to, as long as it is approved by warner.

 

I hate warner. Mike should terminate the contract with warner and do music through Machine Shop.

 

As I said earlier, I'm sure at some point someone in a boardroom at Warner looked at this album cover and had a distinct and loud expression of "WTF!" and then they heard the album and everything was presented in a manner that they understood. So, I'm hoping, that's how it will all go down for us as well. I mean, I know labels have made some stupid decisions before, but I don't see LP making them. The guys have worked long and hard to make the band into what it is both artistically and as a business. So, we shall see.

Look at the album cover artwork. Now back at me. My face is up here. Ready your eyes for my left nipple; which also happens to be on your right. Look at what the album cover could look like. Does the album cover speak to you like my nipple? NO. My left nipple is 10 times more nippley than this new album artwork.

 

I know...I guess that same idea has pass through mike's head, but then warner puts a big briefcase full of money which then makes Mike think about caviar and ponys instead. LMAO jk.

My intention was to point out that if "art" has less of a meaning because "anybody could do it", I personally find it simpler to pick up a guitar and play Papercut than to make the exact same thing on the cover of the album. I can't play guitar worth of shit, but I can play that song by ear. I think it would have been nice if you wouldn't have used "anybody could do it" as for why you find it meaningless. If it's your emotional connection, then say that.

@ your edit: Sure it's what the recipient decides...But the artist has an intent, which means the artist decides. If you see a teddy bear on the cover, and LP's intent was some space shit, doesn't mean it's not a teddy bear or space shit.

 

It's an okay cover. I think the LP Association one looks cooler.
