    Looks like a Mr. game n watch head for a cover?
    I will just have to create my own cover with the bands head or just a white cover with a tiny black logo of the bands name.
    I'm sure i'll love the cover later when it drops into shelves but i would love to see how this cover was made and the reason behind it.

    I'm sorry, I really respect your opinion but I feel I didn't deserve to be quoted there. I'm not discouraging negative discussion at all and I'm not directing my posts towards anybody, I'm just saying how I feel about it and how people in general are taking the cover from my perspective. I'm really not trying to discourage negative feedback at all, as long as it is constructive, which you clearly show. I welcome that and will gladly discuss it. I'm not trying to eradicate opinions that do not approve and I'm sorry if comes across that way. I really like you and you seem to voice yourself well and I have no problems at all with what you mentioned.

    The dumbest album cover I've seen in a long time. I hope the songs will be good.

    We just don't want people to flame the band, which has happened a lot in this thread. It's well known that the band occasionally browses this forum to gauge fan opinion (Mike posted both our lazars pics on his blog, and linked from our forums) and the last thing we need is to have the band think this forum is full of overreactive fans.

    So no, you're not a mindless hater. I'm not totally flipping over it either, although it's grown on me. We're just trying to make sure the band gets respected.

    Criticism is expected. I'm sure Mike, and the rest of the band, have dealt with numerous critics, in the form of "over-reactive fans" in the past. I very much doubt he'd (they'd) stop visiting due to the negative opinions of some. They may even take the negative opinions in to account.

    Very well said. Some of the best albums of all time had very simple album covers. (Ex: Dark Side of The Moon)

    Still, commentary can be done without flaming the band.

    True, but some people get over excited when venting their frustrations. As long as they're not violating the rules with their posts.

    Ok i think we all know that the cover doesn' reflect the album, i think everybody knows that, and if someone would ask me if i prefered great cover + an ok album or an ok cover + a great album, i would choose the album who wouldn't? but if we can have a great cover + a great album why shouldn't we expect something better, and especially after all this promoting the cover with all of the twitting on the site.

    I think it could have been done a cover with the same ideas but better.

    And so that i'm not called a hater, here is my opinion that i posted right after the release:

    This album cover is the first thing that I'm not a fan of in LP's ENTIRE CAREER. I love all the members, everything about the first 3 albums, FM, DBS, Mikes art, and so forth. Haha I guess there's a first for everything. And again, I'm positive the music will be incredible in this album. That is all I care about! I too am not a fan of people who have bashed LP for doing everything that isn't like HT and Meteora.

    Edit: I like Mike's art regarding Glorious Excess. Not this cover :p. Of course I'm not sure how involved he was with it.
