When you turn it around, you'll see the black ball is actually exploding, with B&W. It's actually awesome.

 

I don´t think they read... i´m certain if they read they wouldn´t make ridiculous comments as that one!!!

Who doesn't like it, i think, has a little lack of art sense. It must not be super-complicated to be good. I think this (whatever it is, if it is the whole or only part of the cover), is representing well the concept of A Thousand Suns. Cause that's what you would get probably by a crash or explosions between them. It's not just a hole, it has more in it, it's like, every curve and every light has a meaning, and that is what makes it art. That is black and white is good in my opinion.
Just think on NIN art, so much appreciated, his visions, and most of it is about light-effects, or particular zooms, nothing too over-produced.
Plus in the stores this will hit your eye immediately, instead of a multi-colored cover in between of million of other colors.
I love it.

I like this because it technically grants me immunity from questioning as well.... Maybe not.

 

Only comlaint is they used black and white again, like they did from Minutes to Midnight.

Alright fine. It's OKAY. But people who don't like it don't necessarily have a lack of art sense. They just recognize a blob when they see one! Another part to this is the fact that they made us wait 3 days for this thing. And Mike over promoted it saying it was "sick" and "The best artwork we have ever done".

 

I respect everyone, i didn't say anything with any offense or something.
I was just meaning sometimes a deeper meaning can lay behind a veil of illusion instead of the raw reality. I am sure many people expected the design to be filled from bottom to top, but is not that giving necessarily a bigger meaning

@shinoda194 : well, evidently for them in this moment that picture has a higher importance than anything they did in the past. To be honest, this to me has a beauty effect on eye, the cover of Meteora not too much, for example.

And actually is a bit disturbing i got already 3 contra messages, from people telling to respect others, when are other not respecting this cover first. I try only to immedesimate into an artist who works on visual as in music for months, trying to build a connection to all.

 

Simplicity is fine. Boring simplicity with no emotional connection, however, is pretty disappointing. That's the big difference in this and NIN's artwork. The sparse art (for Ghosts I-IV in particular) is very appealing, and draws emotion from the viewer. This just seems too amateurish. They could've used the same idea, and still left off any text or logos, and made a much better cover IMO. Just look at The Catalyst artwork. Also very simplistic in design, with no text/logos/busy & filled out picture plane, but it's very engaging.
