New to LPA, though I've followed the forums/news here for years. Finally decided to register!

Cannot wait to hear the new material tomorrow, whether its short snippets or the entire song I'm sure we will all be pleased with what the guys have come up with this time around! September 14th can't arrive soon enough =D

 

Mr.spraypaint, you might want to re-read the statement release from Linkin Park. The alternative for the winner of this contest would also be eligible to record a song with Linkin Park in their very own studio. The band is offering fans around the world a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet and record a song with the band themselves; it's a dream come true! Would you still be grumbling away if you were to win?

I'm not grumbling. It may turn out okay. I was hoping for a press release and some info on the overall album today instead of a sponsorship promotion. It's okay though, it seems like we get the track tomorrow.

 

please let the FULL song be released tommorow....(A) bcause I am leaving the day after tommorow it would be awesome to download the song tomorow so I can listen to it my entire holiday!!

Really happy with the news, and the idea of the contest is a very decent one as well, it's great to see how LP usually involve the fans in their stuff, for me that's a sign of how much they care about their fans, whic is great.

And seems like tomorrow we will hear a snippet of "the Catalyst", brilliant, bring on tomorrow!

 

well, no offense or anything, but you seem to be misunderstanding the whole point of the remix contest.

 

You might understand when you take a moment to think about what Derek told you now more than one time...

I think it's a genious way of promoting the album. It gets the word out and it's interesting for the public. Although we probably all know that this is a very smart way to get attention, I must say that LP proves again that they are a very down-to-earth band. Having a fan on the album, even if it's a bonus track, is a humble move.

I use Sony Acid/FL studio/Cakewalk and I'm gonna rap on it most definitely. Depending on when the contest ends I'd even perform it at shows and tell people to vote! That would be friggin awesome

 

Not only is it a humble move, but some of the remixes out there are VERY good. Think about it, someone who is talented and creative with the aid of LP's musical direction can make for a reallly REALLLYY awesome remix.
