According to Google translater "la sono" means "Are The" and it says it's Italian.

No one here has gone with that meaning anyway unless I missed it. "Sono" roughly means sound.

Maybe the new album will be a concept album about space, time, Earth and stuff. I mean, who knows? It's Linkin Park we're talking about.

One idea I had off the top of my head was that it was to do with Icarus and Daedalus but that doesn't completely fit, unless you're looking at both that story and these phrases a bit metaphorically and symbolically.

Actually I wouldn't rule out something along those lines. Not strictly climate change and whatever, but yeah. More to do with freak weather, natural disasters, that sort of thing.

I don't think the first gif was a solar flare. It probably wasn't static either (although if it was it'd tie in with the next part of this post). Let's say it was a blizzard or a dust storm, or even ash from a volcanic eruption. One of those seems more likely to me based on appearance.

And let's say the solar flare stuff is relevant to the new clue. Maybe that's what it refers to. Solar flares, magnetic storms, that sort of thing. If the animation was supposed to be static that'd link well with this idea. Although, I'm not sure if those could destroy the earth by themselves, unless that part of the original phrases is meant in a more general sense, referring to what we've seen so far plus whatever else they (hypothetically) have lined up.

There are indeed people who used that translation (to Dean).
@Sarah. La sono is italian, but is not correct in a sentence. It should be between "è la" or "sono le". La sono together makes no sense at all gramaticaly, so i would agree with "sono" as sound. "La sono" makes exactly much sense as saying "it are" or "they is".

Its fair to say, this has got to do with something about space or the Earth. Thats the conclusions we've come down to.

Yeah...the band is really involved with stuff involving the environment (Music for Relief) and a few of their songs from MTM referred to global issues (Hands Held High, The Little Things), so it would make sense that their new music could relate to global warming or climate change.

Translating is not always correct. Especially when you want to translate words from various languages and making sentences.

Hence us not using literal translations.

Speaking of translations, my friend instead of translating to Italian, did some other language, so I can't rely on him to translate.

someone posted this on mike's blog:

    "Hello !
I’m Fraench. I have maybe an idea. There are 1144 numbers. So 1144 is a multiple of 8. 1144/8 = 143 .So I think we have to translate each group of 8 numbers (which are in binary) in decimal. After, You divide the result by 8 the number you will find will be the number of he letter in the alphabet. That’s my idea.
For example for the first octet :
    01000110 (binary) = 70 (decimal)
    70/8 = 8 (just take integer number)
    8=H
(Sorry for my bad English, I hope you will understand)"

Should we give it a try?

I noticed there were 1144 too but I couldn't work out what I could do with that data. ;D

I don't thoroughly understand the suggestion, but ... um, it looks like something we could do. :3

HOLY WOWZERS! When you squint your eyes, lay your monitor flat down, count every 16th number and convert it to binary, then translate the binary, you get THIS!
