    Maybe they let them preview their single, but not an album. LP is so tight lipped about everything.

    as well they should be. look at how we've reacted to the smallest thing compared to the actual album. we've been having maniacs screaming for the last 24 hours and fans going crazy over an announcement from mike.

    That's because they've gone so long without any real album news. No other bands I follow are this frustrating.

    but obviously you still want to follow LP as much as everyone else here because they're that great of an artist. so then it doesn't really matter as much. i hate that they keep doing this to us too, but i'm sure it's hard for them to put this all together and by how hard they work i can conclude that they are working really hard and not just sitting around idly while we're waiting.

    They do. I posted it somewhere around here yesterday, but in '08 Metallica previewed 6 songs from DM in early June and released the album mid-September.

    You really think LP would to magazine outlets? They cant even give us a press release or any information about the album. Seems doubtful to me.

    Magazines get to hear music/get details on upcoming music far before we do. For example, AOL heard MTM about 3 months before its final release date. Just because LP hasn't given us this big story yet, doesn't mean the label isn't previewing the new music already.

    Those magazine outlets are not as reliable as AOL was. Kerrang is, but they just said prepare to be blown away. Vague statement is vague.

    I'm not exactly an expert on the music industry's inner workings, but I'd imagine WB would have to approve beforehand any announcement about LP's new album. Maybe WB, for whatever reason, put the skids on yesterdays announcement?

    Correct. WB has to approve any press release that comes out, as well as WB/LP's legal team etc. It's not as easy as just saying 'HAI NEW ALBUM'. A lot goes into it.

    One would think Mike would know this procedure and get the green light before promising a big announcement at a specific time though.

    I honestly think it was just a case of all the elements not falling into place yesterday as LP hoped they would. I'm sure they're really busy & working hard to make this announcement as soon as possible, but I'm also sure there's a lot of avenues within management , the band, the label and a number of other parties that need to be all prepared for an announcement concerning album release dates, singles, titles etc... if that is indeed what this announcement concerns.

    Did you see the BILD article? They come right out and say LP's manager was there to preview the new album. (crappy)English translation.

    It's pretty clear that momentum is now picking up after a long quiet period.


    Exactly. That's a fantastic way to get a negative reaction from the fanbase, LP have been around more than long enough to know that. If Mike found out he couldn't make the announcement then he should've just told us that "sorry, big announcement's been put back x days" instead of stringing people along. It would save himself a lot of grief.

    I don't trust unreliable sources, especially ones with countless grammatical errors presented in them. The article is short and vague as well.
