Mike Responds To Blog Comments

Mike has taken the time to address some comments that people have been leaving him on his blog. Although some are responses to overly asked, annoying questions by fans, he goes on to talk about the next stage of development in the new album creation process.

"I’m doing some test mixes of some songs, to see what they might sound like finished, and to see if the guys like my mixes. It’s called a shootout. For those unfamiliar with mixing, look here. Our engineer Ethan and I are teaming up to mix some stuff, and a couple other mixers are mixing the same songs. We’ll put all the mixes together on a CD–with no names–and see which mixes the band likes best, just based on the sound. It’ll be really funny if I pick someone else’s mix."

No problem. My favourite part was where he said he's going to delay the album for another extra day whenever someone asks him when it's coming out. Seriously, I can't believe people actually ask him stupid things like that. I really admire how much devotion he puts into interacting with fans, when the majority of them spam questions like that.

 

The tone I get from reading that part, yeah ... sounds like he's really annoyed.

 

The best part is when I go on other sites, and read that some people intend to boycott MS.com because Mike doesn't post enough new album updates. Its like...give me a break. People fail to release that the band seriously doesn't have to owe them shit, but instead they chose to do so because they're a humble and down to earth band.

Still, it doesn't matter if the band keeps giving out free music every few months, its still never enough for some folks.

 

Do you see half of the crap he gets in the UStream channel/on his blog? He has every right to annoyed. Yes the band takes a while to release records, but every new post by him has some major idiot who can't spell worth his/her life harassing Mike over posting something that's unrelated to the album...or asking when LP will be touring in their country. Since day 1, it's been common knowledge that the band can't answer when they'll come to a certain country because it's not in their hands. The same applies to asking when the album will come out. Until the record is finished, the best answer they can give is "when it's done" so it's pointless for some of these people to keep asking the same thing over and over again.

They may not be acting obnoxious just to be doing it, but they're doing a fine job of being obnoxious by accident if that's the case. I love this band a lot still, but some times...seeing how some people act around them, just makes me embarrassed for the LP fan base as a hole. We're not all like that, but we get grouped into that perception when people go full on teenie/psycho over every word the band members say. There's a line between being a fan and being creepily obsessed. These fans are creepily obsessed.

 

And even if Mike is a multi-million dollar recording artist, he's still a human being underneath it all. Anyone, famous or not famous would show frustration after being asked the same thing hundreds of times.

 

It makes me laugh, who in the right mind thinks Mike can actually, honestly answer that question? Do they seriously think he will?

What a load of laughable bullshit.

 

Might wanna edit that fake release date out Joe. People might take it as gospel .

 

If that becomes the final date, I'll probably die from laughter .

 

I'm just going to leave it in, that way if anybody does start asking if the release date is October 28th somewhere down the line, we'll know these are the same stupid people who keep asking Linkin Park these stupid questions!
