So since we've got all the new X-Box console threads and the PS3, why not go back to the old school generation of consoles, like Nintendo 64, Super Nintendo and anything else you can think of! I've always been a big N64 fan (mainly because Zelda: Ocarina Of Time was a brilliant game).
*Boots up Tomb Raider 1 on my PSX*. This game changed my life...all while having some of the most mediocre graphics by today's standards. It definitely hasn't stood the test of time .
NINTENDO 64, GREATEST CONSOLE OF THEM ALL! The classic Banjo, the Zelda games, they're so awesome but now every game is violent so these games don't fit in anymore.
Man, I don't even know where to start. Gaming has been my life. Pole Position on the Atari, Alex The Kid, Wonderboy, Action Fighter, TMNT (NES)... I could go on for hours, but, yeah. Good times.
I can't help but to laugh at the old and dodgy graphics but the graphics in Zelda were pretty awesone for the time, and much better than Resident Evil 2's graphics.
Haha, that's probably a good thing. Obviously technology evolves and so does the way games are created. I still get excited and on rare occasions have the same feelings I have when playing games from when I was younger. I think it ultimately comes down to the feelings of nostalgia, and what we played when growing up rather than the games themselves.
The underwater level in that game used to piss me off so much, haha. Gaming pretty much defined my childhood. NES, SNES, Genesis/Mega Drive, Playstation, Dreamcast--I'm going into nostalgia-overload, here.
I sucked so badly at that game, epecially at multi-player, my brother would be the first to get the Golden Gun.
I have fond memories of my Genesis...playing Sonic for hours on end. And Kid Chameleon and Green Dog...hell I even had the Sega CD. I have to laugh at the fact that until my sister bought a gamecube I never owned a Nintendo console. Played 'em at friends houses though. Then I got a playstation, damn I loved that thing. Parasite Eve, Spyro, Twisted Metal...great games.
When I say they will never be the same, I mean.... A lot of games being developed are all violent, not that violent games a bad but I want to be able to play a game like the original Banjo games, they may have the swing but thats fine, but not the punching and the kicking and the stealing cars and all that crap (its crap on occasions). So I just hope the gaming world doesn't get consumed by violent games.
