    And I'd pay for a 256kbps AAC iTunes Plus rip as anything is better than 128kbps.

    I must be a internet n00b I can't find the track which is annoying. I want to listen to it in my car tomorrow! Odd that you can't download it once the game is completed. Will have to have another search in the morning to see if I can get.
    I wish I could give them my money to buy the song. I have no quarms about buying it at all! And even if I get a d/l I'll still buy it on iTunes.

    Yeah I'm sorry. Even with the above knowledge (knowing that you have the game and would buy the track separately if you could), posting a link to get the mp3 is just asking for WBR to send us a cease and desist notice. We just cant risk ruining our relationship with the band/wbr since we've worked hard to gain that trust. Sorry.

    It's a trans-code. The direct version from Artificial Life is only 128kbps. No other version has been officially released.

    Really? Oh well... but it does have better quality than the 128kbs version that leaked initially :)

    It might seem like it's better quality but believe it or not, it's actually worse. With a trans code, every time you re-save an mp3 on top of the original mp3, it compresses the file and loses quality. There's no way to actually make a compressed file uncompressed. While some people will never notice the difference, there are audio purists out there who will only listen to FLAC files (uncompressed, direct from cd rips) because mp3 files lose some of the fidelity of the original recording. :)

    yes, I know about all that music file encoding stuff, I'm actually one of those people who prefer lossless files over mp3, lol (btw, offtopic, Creative is releasing a media player that reads Flac! :D) . But right now I don't care about it because, trans-coded or not, the "320kbs" version I have sounds waaaay better that the first file (128) I found :)

    Fair enough lol. I wonder if Creative's player will be better than VLC's. Right now VLC is my player of choice for FLACs :).

    the song would be so much better if the last chorus had distorted guitars as ATL did.

    I'm waiting for the full 8-bit soundtrack, lol (Am I the only one?). If only I had an iPod, I'd be able to play this masterpiece of art.

    I play it and personally I don't think it is a masterpiece of art - It is good but there are a lot of better iPod/iPhone games in the iTunes Store. ;)

    I revise my earlier impression that the lyrics have improved (maybe except for Mike's part). It's just the same LP lugubriousness we've known since forever. I do like lugubriousness, but some stylistic changes wouldn't hurt I guess, especially since musical progress is so important to LP. The image of Blackbirds is completely missing in the stanzas, in a literal, metaphorical and allegorical way.
    And while the imagery in the chorus is pretty cool, the last line pulls it back into the same old lyrical plainness: "The pain, it comes in waves". If they needed a rhyme so badly, why not "My pain is what they crave" or something like that, this would at least directly relate to the blackbirds.

    Just my 2 cents, overall a song I like listening to anyway.
