I love how you can navigate from one segment of the site to the other via the link bar at the top of the site. Not sure if that was available in 3.0 however, it's much more noticable in 4.0.

Nope, it was something we had in 2003-2006 and then got rid of (unintentionally) for LPA3. We brought it back for 4.

What about the gallery? Has anyone clicked on the links in the gallery blurb in the news post, and tried "full size" on some of the images? We have VERY high resolution pictures for you guys to enjoy :).

Derek, when I click on the button that says + Reply to Thread, nothing happens. I have to use the Quick Reply box to post. Is that a glitch?

Nope, that's a feature. It's meant to make posting quicker. To access full formatting options click on "Go Advanced".

I really like the new design. It's just one little thing that bothers me, is the old LPA mobile skin no more? I know this one is suppose to work on most mobiles but it goes really slow for me with the pictures loading and what all. But I guess that's okay.

Ah, I see, when you click "+ reply to thread", it goes into a quick reply, instead of going into the advanced reply. I'm not sure if VB4 is designed that way, that you have to click "go advanced" on purpose or not. Todd will know more and probably can code it so the "+ reply to thread" button will go straight to advanced, if people would prefer it that way.

Edit: Ah, looks like Derek covered it and it seems that's how it's meant to be.

We are working on optimizing the mobile skin to be compatible on phones with less picture intensive browsers (blackberry etc). We also still need to convert vb4 into mobile...all of which will happen within the next few weeks. :)

Quick silly question though.. why was LPA 3 only 3 and not 3.0 haha?

Well we put 4.0 up, but its really referred to as LPA4 within staff. It's kinda like how The Snax went by The Snax and Tasty Snax and kept switching it throughout their career.

I like the overall look, feel, new style of it. However.

The front page seems.. Like there's too much. I feel as though it would be better if it would be parts of the intro, then a link to the actual article. Why?

A lot of news sources do this. They put up the introduction of an article, and then link if you would like to read more. I feel as though that would be a more efficient design, but that's just me. :)

Wonderful design and pictures in the gallery! And a great handful of selection for the downloads area.

Well we didn't expect the announcement to stretch so much, but I agree. Not sure if a "read more" is codeable. We had a lot of trouble getting LPA4 to even pull from the vB4. I'll let Todd answer this one.

Thanks for the haste reply Derek! ^_^

I'm Just saying. Perhaps, it'd be more useful for longer articles? My theory is that it could get more views.

    Also, for the gallery.

I know you guys have the new HD images, which are awesome, but it might be more helpful to label which have HD - option of viewing before I click a picture. Get what I mean?

something like "also in 1080p" or something.

I thank you for the wonderful work you guys put into this! :)

We sort of have something like that now. If you click on an image and look in the upper right hand corner there should be a full size link. Anytime the image is over 1200xwhatever it's in HD.

Also Road To Revolution, New Divide (HD) and both crank screens in "special appearances" are definitely HD :). Some LP pics are HD (you'd have to look for that link), but all of Fort Minor/DBS is HD. :D

It'll be back, probably today or tomorrow. It's basically done, I just have to tweak a couple things, there's something with vB 4 which means you can't reply with quote to a post from the mobile skin. I have no idea why or how to fix it, so we'll lose that capability. Maybe vB will release an official mobile skin one of these days that supports everything.

It's possible, although I think once the announcement drops off the main page it will look better. If not, I can code it.

Well if you can code it without it breaking like it did last night, then go ahead.
