I haven't seen it yet, but I'm hearing nothing but negative things from people who have. People who usually eat up that Shinoda blog/Sparkart kind of needlessly elaborate stuff, at that. Not too excited, personally. Anyone else have a more optimistic experience? edit- I just got in firsthand. It is terrible. Know how the old version was a linkin park flavored Facebook? It's like that times 20. I assume taking screenshots and posting them is a no-no because of the whole "sneak preview" thing right?
They changed from SparkArt to Ning. And it apparently was a long, grueling process. Well, we all (on that site, anyway) bitched about how ass SparkArt was...
Argh i really can't be bothered to sign up to something I'd never use or go onto. No offense to LP and everything their doing it for, but why can't they just make a regular site like all the other regular bands? All you want is Bios, history, a COMPLETE discography with links, a message board, and maybe a few streaming mp3s as well as LPTV and the music videos in a video section. Thats all you need. who cares about making your own "personalised" page etc. it should be about the band first and foremost.
I brought it up (constantly) and was eventually told by several admins and once Mike Shinoda himself to simply stop bitching. Now actually having been there since 2001 I was under assumption maybe they'd like to know how people who were obvious regulars would feel about such drastic overhauls. Boy how wrong I was.
Explain? I didn't think it was that insulting. Just saying what's on people's minds. That post wasn't against you...it was agreeing with you. I've deleted the post though.
In all honesty, I could care less what type of site they have. It could be splattered with pink polka dots and it wouldn't matter to me lol. All I care about is a new album and a tour. But that's just me haha.
It looks like it was made about six years ago, that's just the vibe I got from the layout, colors etc. That being said, everything worked great. I played a couple old videos and such and everything was quick. Visually I liked the old site better.
I really do not think the site is that bad. The comment I deleted was about how the intelligence of the boards over there (because of the teenie boppers) has plummeted in recent years. Sitewise, I have nothing wrong with Ning and I think it's fine.
Who complained about the sparkart design? I rather liked it. It was way better than this new design. It litterally looks like an "LP flavoured facebook". Hell, even Facebook looks more professional than this.
