This is just ridiculous. Banning someone from their prom just because of their sexuality is the biggest bunch of shit I've read in a long time. http://www.examiner.com/x-17183-Bir...l-threatens-to-cancel-prom-if-lesbian-attends
As much as I hate to say it, she probably won't be able to. This reminds me of the kid who got beat up because he was gay, and the principal all but said that he deserved it.
It's pretty stupid. The forum I got this from is up in arms about it and are actually agreeing with the principal (well, most of them anyway). The one's that are on the principal's side of the matter are all old school, so it doesn't surprise me. One guy said homosexuality is wrong, which I don't think it is. Gay people are really nice people, and whatever they choose to be is their business, not mine. So another guy said that it's wrong in God's eyes, and "when "their business" conflicts with my business, then there's a problem.". That's one thing that annoys me most about people. It only conflicts with your business if you let it. Gay people don't bother anyone and they pretty much keep to themselves. I hate society sometimes. I hope this girl says she wont go, and then decides to go anyway. Hell, she helped plan the party, let her go. As I said, she isn't bothering anyone.
This is outragous. In Alabama of all places where so many civil rights demonstrations took place. Disgusting.
Eh, the principal has no grounds to actually cancel the prom or to not let her go with her girlfriend. This is one of those situations where there's just no way that the principal can carry out what he said. There will be an uprise of people, and he will have to back down.
She's now allowed to take whoever she wants: http://www.timesdaily.com/article/2...011/NEWS?Title=Lesbian-couple-allowed-at-prom
When people can't accept others because they're different, that's when I really start to realize how fucked up society can be.
"School officials say they were already in the process of re-evaluating the issue and concluded Stewart's girlfriend can attend the prom in March as long as she is cleared through a screening process that all out-of-district dates must undergo when attending similar school functions." What do you want to bet she mysteriously ends up not being cleared?
