    Buuuuuuut he's our "closer". I understand what you are saying and the game of baseball perfectly but you can't just sit your closer out and never play him. I am pissed that Lidge blew a crucial game though. There's no excuse for this shit from him. Not now when there is only a few games left in the season and we are trying to make it to the postseason.

    Why couldn't Lidge still be on the Astros and closing for them tonight? The Cardinals could've used some help to clinch tonight.

    Our magic number is 1, so next Cubs loss or next Cards win, we clinch, so it's all but guaranteed at this point. The Cardinals are off tomorrow, but the Cubs are playing the Giants. Hopefully they'll have their asses handed to them by the Giants because then our number is zero :lol:

    Cardinals will clinch without a doubt, which is good for your team! :) But the Phillies always have to make it a struggle. It kills me.

    Haha, yeah, a Cardinals clinch is guaranteed. All that has to happen is we win one or the Cubs lose one, and I don't see the Cubs winning every game left in the season while the Cards lose every game in the season. That's simply not going to happen. It's just nice when it's official.

    And the Phillies will do it too. Their next 6 games are against Milwaukee and Houston, neither of which have been doing too well (Houston lost 9 in a row until tonight and Milwaukee didn't do too well against the Cubs the first 2 games). I wouldn't expect much help from Atlanta though since their next 3 are against Washington who might be the only team worse than the Astros right now.

    My prediction for the NLCS is Cardinals vs. Phillies. It'll be a close series with a lot of yelling at each other in Random Thoughts :lol: The World Series will unfortunately be Yankees vs. whoever wins the NLCS. And I don't think the Cardinals or the Phillies can beat the fucking Yankees.

    I hope. I'm actually going to a Houston game on Oct. 1st. I am hoping for some good outcomes before that game.

    And yeah, I'd love a Cardinals vs Phillies match up. A lot of yelling will be had between me, you and Derek. Fun! :lol: And ugh, fuck the Yankees.
