P!ATD Has a New Perspective Panic! at The Disco (Yes, the ! is back) are set to release a new single "New Perspective" for the upcoming movie soundtrack "Jennifer's Body" If you heard the clip of new PATD on their website (www.panicatthedisco.com) then this is not the same song. I LOVE how this clip sounds, I cannot wait for the song. It's to be released July 28th.
It sounds good, but not as good as Nine In The Afternoon. Then again, I was a pretty big Pretty. Odd. fan.
So am I, and I have hopes for the next album, but as something good and different from Pretty Odd. This song brought back faith that "Oh Glory" took away.
I agree Nick, I have no problems with the new album being a mix of their last two albums as I did enjoy "Fever" quite a bit....it's just that I loved "Pretty. Odd." a lot more and hope they keep the best parts of that sound when approaching their new CD.
Lyrics to it on their myspace: http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendId=6534560&blogId=501689204 I'm really not sure what to think yet. The lyrics I find far more generic than anything off Fever...., which is disappointing. I look forward to hearing the full thing though, which is apparently out on the 28th.
Yeah, thats what happens when you lose a lyricist. I loved Ryan's lyrics because they were so creative. But New Perspective still sounds really good to me.
No. EDIT: Not great quality, but a New Perspective acoustic performance: http://community.livejournal.com/patd/ EDIT: It's growing on me for the moment, but it may be a new material-high
Esaul, the exclamation is indeed back. go to their official website and look at the name, and on their Myspace they changed it also www.panicatthedisco.com
Yeah, it was asked if they moved it to the back of the name (like you put it in your initial post) to which I told him it wasn't. I am also having a hard time getting over the amount of innuendo in this song!
Oh, haha I didn't know you were being specific, and I didn't realize I put the ! in the wrong spot either.
this clip sounds nothing like anything on "Fever". it's rather one of these boring radio songs that'll annoy the hell out of everyone after the 20th replay.
Actually, now that the new lyrics and sound have set in, it seems to me this album will have neither the wit of AFYCSO or the musical chops of Pretty. Odd. so it's looking like a big disappointment right now.
new single up on their myspace. like i suspected, a radio song, a good one at that, but not much more.
Hang on. Rewind. Lost a lyricist? Can someone please explain this to me? [EDIT] Nevermind. I just read this:
