I think Rob should do the producing. Anyone else producing would be ridiculous.

That could also be a possibility, but yeah MTM was great, I admit it. It was a sweet album to listen to, it had great songs :). Maybe the band makes the new song a mix of MTM style and HT/M style, but I think that on't happen :p. I assure that Shinoda helps Rubin once again with producing and I am exciting about the new album, I think it will rock and it isn't gonna be the same as New Divide. Maybe that New Divide is gonna be a bonustrack on the new album of LP. Could be possible or else on a special edition of the album :)

Unlikely considering that LP said the new album will sound nothing like New Divide. They deliberately made ND sound the way it did (commercial and mainstream) cause it was for a movie. As far as I can understand, the new album is supposed to sound nothing like that.

Fall Out Boy did it with Beat It, Biffy Clyro are doing it with Mountains. New Divide seems to have done pretty well so I wouldn't be surprised if Warner do try to include it as a bonus track or something if they can.

Death Magnetic sounded more like a Metallica album than any Metallica album since 1988.

I still have high hopes for this.

I love it how people who haven't heard one song off of the new album yet, still pretend to assume they know exactly how it's going to sound.

Word of advice: Wait till the first snippets come out before you whine and call Rick Rubin a one trick pony, or this album a Minutes To Midnight re-hash.

^ And even that would be rushing it. Remember the song snippets some Sony Music website put up of the MTM songs? Those made the record sound a lot different than what it turned out to be.

I would too. Mike is my favorite part of Linkin Park, and he is the most essential to their songwriting. I'm sure Rick Rubin will allow them to be creative and fresh just like on MTM. Whatever happens, I just hope Mike doesn't trash the idea of more rap on the new album.

Good. The band has a producer who will let them do what they want, but tell them if they sound shit.
    Sounds good.

That's how it was last time, and that's pretty much how it is this time.

The thing about Rick Rubin is that he's good for writing, but sucks on the production end. I mean, he can help bands write good tracks. Just look at Blood Sugar Sex Magik by Red Hot Chili Peppers. That being said, his production sucks. A lot. In fact, just going by recording quality, i'd say he's the worst producer out there. He is far too clean, and that, in my opinion, was one of MTM's downfalls.

Again, that's not necessarily a trademark of his. You may as well blame Neal Avron.
