It reminds me of the DUN DUN noise you hear at the start of It's My Life by Bon Jovi.

    This is what I got:

No need to hear your voice
    Or see your face
To know that you are with me
No need to kiss your lips
    Or hold your hand
To know that you can feel me

I still don't get why he couldn't write lyrics like this in Linkin Park? Yes the subject matter is different, but I can see no reason why a band like Linkin Park (who have stated they don't want to just confine to one genre) wouldn't be able to make a song like what we've heard?

Perhaps Mike and Chester need to bring influence from their solo projects into the next LP record.

Not ACTUAL dial up. Just dial up speeds. I went over the download limit this month, so i'm at dial up speeds until the thirteenth.

Because so far in their career Linkin Park haven't always necessarily written and recorded music without being confined in some way or another.

I don't see how these lyrics are that different from Linkin Park's, or anything to look at with envy...

I agree. They seem to be along the same lines as some of the more personal lyrics from MTM, and even though I don't think Chester is the best lyricist anyway (presuming the stuff he sings with LP is predominantly written by him) I think he's written better.

Then again, the execution of said lyrics is a much more dominant aspect imo. If Chester can deliver the way he did in Rock and Roll Could Never Hip Hop like this pt.2, or Slow Ya Roll in Linkin Park's next studio album, or within Dead By Sunrise I'll be satisfied.

Stylistically, Dead By Sunrise music will most likely be a far cry from "Slow Ya Roll" and the Handsome Boys track.

I think the lyrics of "Let Down" prove that he's mor than slightly talented.

Agreed. The lyrics seem pretty bland to me.

    I'm pumped.

And yeah, Let Down proved that he has awesome potential.
Not that I think he's bad most of the time or anything.

Chester's strengths aren't necessarily in creating very complex lyrics (imho), but instead are in writing lyrics that are memorable and catchy to the listener.

You can throw as many big words into a song as you want; but if you cant craft something people will remember, than the song isn't the best it could possibly be. A lot of the prolific songs out there that are considered classics, have simple lyrics...but the lyrics were written in such a way that they resonated deep in the hearts of music lovers worldwide.
