I liked the video, i was really hoping to see those parts from the making of. It looked awesome. Other than that its not bad at all
Theres a somewhat clearer, slightly less glitchy version of the video on MovieWeb: http://www.movieweb.com/news/NEMOFMPRJvPVRS
Phoenix is at 2:43 of the video, washed in some effects. He is not in the main band shots. Probably wasn't available that day or something. Not a major deal, I'm sure.
It's not like you see that much more of the other members than you do Dave anyway, aside from Chester who's onscreen for the majority of it.
I like the effects.. it was something different... can't wait to see it when i'm in a non sober state of mind
I see Phoenix at least 3 times in the video, 0:12, 2:42, and 3:42. I'm sure he's in a few of the quicker shots too. But yeah, weird that he's not in any of the group shots, there's plenty of footage with him in all of the behind the scenes videos.
Personally I thought this video was slightly disappointing from the sneak peak. The pulling of the ropes seemed really cool and I'm sure it would have been a lot better if there wasn't so much special effects. I mean some of the soft fire and stuff was cool but I wasn't so fond of the inverted xray or lava look. And the glitchy DVD skip effect wasn't appealing either. Call me boring or whatever, my favorite parts of the video were the visible band footage.
My slightly plausible theory is that it's Shinoda who handles all the bass in this song, because I really can't figure out what else he could be doing ... it would explain the severe lack of Phoenix in the video. But, still, he does appear, as mentioned, in some brief shots.
No Phoenix definitely plays bass in this track. Mike plays a synthesizer/keyboard riff which doubles the bass in some spots.
In regards to an HD version, we have been told that the video is currentely myspace exclusive. That means no HD version for a while folks.
In my opinion, I guess I understand why LP put so much effects on the new video. First of all, I think all of us know that LP is fun of putting effects on most of their videos which make this one special because the entire video is made of "weird" effects.Haha. But I am confident enought to these guys because most of them are into art designing. Secondly, Transformers itself the movie is highly technical and not boring so to equalize this movie, LP made something which is not the usual, not typical, not so normal and futuristic. I give thumbs up for LP on this one. Great Job. I think LP didn't really mature physically. They still look like in their 20's. Haha. Great hair Rob! you rock \m/.
I'm still wondering who the hell that chick is in the performance footage! Like, I have almost no doubt it's Megan Fox, but there's no official answer ... and I know it's not that important, but still ...
Apparently, he wasn't in much of the video due to a wrist injury or something he got on-set. This is according to Wikipedia ... although he did mention some sort of injury during the behind-the-scenes clips we got.
