    i love nu-metal... it's just a bit bland.

In it's earlier days not so much but before it died out it was very bland.

Cept Meteora that wasn't too bland.

Then all the viewers would cry.

I dont see it as a bland genre, it's just that, same as any other genre, it had bands that were pretty boring.

But really, it has more potential than any other genre of music, because it can encompass any genre. That's the whole point IMO

I guess i see what your saying there.

I loved how it blended Metal, Electronic, Funk and Hip-Hop.

Funky metal riffs with rapping over the top with a few scratches here and there got me into music.

I definitely rate Nu-metal higher than emo, grunge and hair-metal and whatever other rock music that's been trendy over time, but yeah a lot of nu-metal bands were very bland.

Nu-metal had its good bands, it's just that it had the same thing happen to it that pretty much every popular genre of rock music has had happen to it. To begin with it was interesting, but then the genre got saturated with bands just trying to sound like others. The bands that had the capacity to evolve such as Deftones and Incubus survived, although they may not be in the charts with the same regularity (not that that matters), while the bands that couldn't died. Then you had emo/post-hardcore/whatever you want to refer to it as, where to begin with you had bands like Funeral For A Friend and Finch and Brand New getting popular and it was cool to see something new, but now there's about a million generic rip-off bands and, again, only bands that have more to them than being able to adhere to a fad will survive.

Hence LP being one of the biggest bands in the world, when (bar maybe 4 others) the rest of nu-metal is pretty much dead.

I wouldnt really say Linkin Park is dead considering they are still selling a million albums when they put out a CD.

This is a band I would definately throw tomatoes at if I got the chance. Mainly because of Fred Durst.

saw them live twice in the last week and can assure everyone here, that limp bizkit is probably the best party band out there. i would consider them one of the best live bands, too. the energy in the room was incredible and almost every song (except BBE...) was a fucking party which i never had this way for years.
was cool to be 15 again :)

If it's worth anything to LB's live show, I saw them on the Summer Sanitarium 2003 tour with Mudvayne, Deftones, Linkin Park, and Metallica, and on that day, Limp stole the show.
