Rare Find: The MTV2 Reanimation Music Videos

    From a quote taken from a post on our message boards (with some slight editing):

    "In the summer of 2002 MTV2 ran [a series of specially commissioned Reanimation music videos] on "Playback"; a show that served as a kind of listening party for albums that were getting ready to come out. These were only aired a few times within a few weeks of each other, and [have since become] pretty rare [and hard to find]."

    For a while these videos have randomly appeared on eBay in the form of VHS tapes or custom DVDs but have never actually been hosted on websites for people to see in their entirety. Now, thanks to a member our forums with the screenname of Blackee Dammett (who also contributed the above quote), old fans and new fans alike can now see these videos in ther entirety and get a chance to to enjoy these rarities first hand.

    It should be noted that since these are VHS rips, they are not in the original high quality shown on MTV2 but will serve as the best surviving copies of these videos for the time being. Over the next few weeks we will try hard to track down the originals to bring them to you in high quality, but shall our search be unsuccessful, please enjoy these videos..courtesy of LPA and LPMB member Blackee Dammet.

    BTW, that list of the directors was just copy-pasted from forfeitthegame.com. They're all listed in the credits at the end of the program anyway, but I didn't have rips of these videos handy to check.

    The show actually had credits with all the information. I didn't bother to rip that since what you had was accurate anyway.

    I wonder if those videos are the same that Energy from LPFuse uploaded in his site a few years ago.

    btw: mediafire, megaupload & rapidshare are better hosts than zshare.

    If you're saying did blackee dammet steal them, no. He got them from his VHS copy.

    Now as for if energy ever hosted these? Its possible but these are definitely different rips :).

    I think once we get them all, we should make a torrent for them. Lots of people use them and it'd cut down on bandwith i think.

    I remember watching the premier of these videos back in '02 and thinking wtf this isn't LP. :lol:

    I also didn't really understand why they made a video for POA because they had already released the animated version beforehand.

    EDIT: I just realised the POA video is an edited version. The one I saw showed how the kidnapper in the video sneaks up on the girl and makes her inhale chloroform which knocks her out.

    If he did (as shown above), they're gone now. Either way these are not the same rips, and that's the point I was trying to make.

    We know we're not the first site to host these. We're just offering them to the public through Blackee.
