I waited 3 years to get one

 

One of my best friends is a great drummer.

I barely saw him for a year or two and during that time he developed a hell of a lot. Before that the only thing he could play accurately was the intro from Run To The Hills by Iron Maiden, and even I could probably come close to being able to play that despite having little or not coordination between my hands and feet at the best of times.

 

The thing is, there are hundreds of people who want to drum, all over Craigslist, and because of where I'm located, they all want to do stuff like hip-hop and rap.

Speaking of Craigslist, I don't get why people make fun of bands that are formed that way. I mean, seriously, there's only two ways to make a band, when you're first starting out; with friends, people you already know, or are introduced to, or through classified ads.

Damn. Any chance of your friend moving to the US?

I just had one of the most in-depth conversations I've ever had with anyone. Ever. It would be her though wouldn't it.

 

I think he wants to in the future. At the moment though he's usually either busy with his girlfriend or watching Pulse (the Pink Floyd concert video).

I think the latter is how he got good. I remember the last time I stayed at his house, it just happened to be on the tv in the morning and he made me sit through most of it with him. Every other second he was like "OMG THIS BEAT IS IN 7/4 *musicnerdgasm*"

 

I know it's mothers day but really, my mom is fucking insane.

 

I'm like that to a point, but I can't really point out anything about the technical aspects of the music. If I pay really close attention, I could tell you what tuning the guitars and basses and stuff are in, as well as what kind of effects/amps the people are using, but I can't tell you much else.

I love listening to old songs that I used to love.
