Without looking for any speeding vehicles Gerald started to walk across the street. The big speeding blue bus hit him and then came to a halt.

"Oh my god" the driver said.
"You hit that guy!" the man in the back of the bus yelled.
"Mr. Strangely you hit that guy!"
"Shut your trap you son-of-a-bitch!. I know I hit him. Fucker was out in the middle of the road!"
"Gosh. Look at all that blood" said the man in the back of the bus.
"What are you going to do now Strangely?"
"Just keep on going and leave him there in the middle of the road?"

Mrs Cupps idly stared out the window in horror. After a few moments she regained composure.

"Man can't be alive. Can't be. Can he, Herb?"
"Almighty. There's no way he could Elena. God, look at all that blood"
