Linkin Park to Score and Record New Track for Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen

Ok.. so i am confused and i rly dont wanna sound like an idiot..
1. who the heck is hans??
2. wuts the difference between scoring and writing a new song to the movie??
3.the movie is due out 26th...look on the poster at mikeshinoda.com it says 06.26.09

 

Hans Zimmer is a really well-known, well-reputed film composer.

"Scoring" refers to the writing of the score from a production, ie all of the music as opposed to an individual piece. Essentially the song LP are recording will be a significant part of the soundtrack, with at least some of the other music from the film being written in conjunction to it, instead of it just being a song to use as the theme tune or something along those lines.

 

It's released in most of Europe on the 26th so it's possible Mike posted a poster referring to those countries.

 

So, wait, they're writing a song, and then pieces of that song are going to be incorporated into the score? Could be neat. I was gonna see the movie in any case, so this is a nice treat. It will be interesting to get a look at the new Linkin Park material.

 

from what I understand on the blog update is that Linkin Park will be making a whole new song for the soundtrack/a piece in the movie, but are also working with Hans Zimmer to do the score to the overall film.... ?...?

not 100% sure on anything though; will still be awesome to hear new Linkin Park regardless

 

Different variations/pieces of the new song will be used throughout the film score, and there's a possibility of other new pieces of music finding their way into the score as well.

 

I agree with whoever said this will be epic.
