It depends what you're looking for.

If it's the "student" life you're looking for, then Hull is one of the top ranked in terms of nightlife, societies and overall "student satisfaction".

If you're looking for quality of education - let me know what course you're looking at. Either way - Durham, Newcastle and MAN(chester) MET have decent levels - and campuses to boot.

Give me a shout if you need extra detail.

And don't let conditional offers get to you too much

I'm beginning to get the feeling that this new band will sound alot better and will be much more fun than my main band. Meh.

It's not as easy as that though. Besides, the main band is more jam orientated and this new project is certainly much more produce-based so there'll be time for both. I just don't want it to get to the point that simply jamming with the main band becomes a chore y'know?

That's fair enough I guess. Thing is, if you get to the point where you're not enjoying it then there's no point in doing it anymore. You'll just wind up hating it even more.

I know...it's really difficult though because it's been together for nearly a year and a half and it's taken great effort to keep it all together at times...if I were to just walk away now then all the frustration resulting in good music in the past year and a half will be for nothing. The music that we've created in the main band is just too good to throw away.

I dunno...I guess I'm just pissed that our drummer left at a ridiculously shit time...we were just starting to really kick stuff up a notch. We were gonna start recording our EP next month with a view to gigging by June but I reckon now those plans have been delayed by at the very least a month. First of all we've gotta find a new drummer, teach them the songs, finish the songs we have, put vocals on each song, come up with a better band name and then try to figure stuff out from there.

It's just gonna be so much easier with this new project when it'll just be me, our bass player and my brother producing stuff on the computer, recording instrumental parts and having finished tracks done in something like 1/32th of the time it takes to finish a track with the other band.

I just don't want this main band to end up as a stereotypical disfunctional young band. The process of creating the music is sure as hell frustrating but when you hear something awesome you can't help but feel proud of yourself for helping create it. That's what's kept me and the rest of the band going.

That's fair enough then. Have you thought about drafting in a session drummer for your recording? Or even asking your current drummer to do the recordings for you even if he doesn't stay with the band? That way you could still continue the progress whilst looking for a fulltime replacement drummer.

Our Bass player can do drums aswell so he might have to step in in that department until we can find a replacement. We've already asked our former drummer if he'd just come in for one more session to record the drum parts but he's being an utter cunt about it - just like how he left.
