    Hey,

So, I know that of the 5 versions of Vista out there, Home Basic just so happens to be the only one that does not have Windows Aero. I know that some people deem it unnecessary in the first place but I would like to have it on my system. I've been looking around for hacks online and it seems that of the few I've tried, none have worked successfully.

I was wondering if anyone here knew how to apply Windows Aero features to Home Basic without screwing everything up; a way that is guaranteed to work. Because apparently, it is possible according to some visual displays that I've seen but I can't get any of that to work on my system.

    Thanks.

well i thought i had basic but it turns out i have premium, so i don't have an answer to your question, however, i just switched over to vista, and unless im mistaken, its exactly the same thing as the regular vista except with clear screen parts...

Well, you also have windows that fade in and fade out when you select them, window previews in your taskbar, and 3-D window view selection. Basic doesn't have that.

Vista Basic doesn't install the base for Aero or any of the advanced features unforunately :/

hmm, i don't actually use that 3-D thing, and I have the fade out turned off. I do like the window previews though, those are nice.
