    I thoroughly enjoyed the book, so I'm glad there's a good director and a great ensemble cast to do it justice. Although, judging by the trailer, it appears that Mann narrowed the focus to John Dillinger instead of trying to cover every criminal who was in the book -- Bonnie and Clyde don't appear to be in the film at all, for example -- which is probably a good thing.

    I had no idea this was based on a book. It seems like something I'll want to watch in any case.

    Yup, Heat is a classic. Underrated. Although Mann to me is either a hit or a miss. Usually nothing in between.
