I definitely agree with the first paragraph of your post.

But lads... Milk is a fucking good film and all-round it's one of the better ones nominated for anything this year as far as the ones I have seen are concerned (yes, I have seen Slumdog Millionaire and The Wrestler). Whatever the academy's reasoning is and whatever the film itself is about, something of that standard deserves accolades. It could have been about bloody Fred Phelps and if it were that good I would still say it justifies the praise, and as it is Milk is three or four times the film Brokeback Mountain is. Even if you disagree with my view that it's a great film, dismissing it just because of possible Hollywood politics is pretty childish and cynical in all honesty.

If you don't think the academy is full of politics and unfair bias towards certain films, then you're probably living in a reality where Obama is white.

You can say the first part of the sentence, and end with you're wrong. The second part of the sentence is completely unnecessary to get your point across. That was almost as stupid as Sarah's post.

Yeah, but I didn't want to. Ohh, didn't see that coming did you? Stop pointing out everyone's flaws in posting around here, it's getting really annoying.

Both your Obama remark Casey, and Sarah's OD remark were out of line in this thread.

I'm sorry to have to say this, but lets start using our heads when we make posts around here people. Common sense appears to be lacking on this board as of late, and I'm beginning to wonder if people read what they've posted before they click the submit button.

Rule of thumb: If you read it and think it could possibly offend someone, than it definitely will offend someone and shouldn't be posted. Let's prevent drama, instead of creating it mmk?

Now everyone please continue your discussion, but this time...let's do it a little more respectfully.

Yeah, uh, I didn't find it offensive. Some people on these boards go out of their way to find things like this and create big deals. I'm not going to apologize for saying it, because I don't find it offensive.

I will leave it at that, though.

Casey, it doesn't matter to me if you want to apologize or call people a bunch of babies for being offended, that was not the point of my post. The point of my post is that in several instances on these forums (especially lately) people have made remarks that quite simply didn't need to be said.

It's not only you, it's not only Sarah, it's many people on here and it's only serving to create drama that these forums could honestly do without.

Same goes here. My comment was within LPA's rules and I didn't find it offensive.

All this talk about the awards, makes me wanna go and watch the Dark Knight again for 50th time and every other film that Heath was in, especially 10 Things I Hate About You.

So you're going to continue talking about it after Derek made two posts telling everyone to end it? Seriously. It's done.

Back on topic, I need to see Slumdog Millionaire. I keep hearing about how good it is.

You cross a very thin line when you start joking around about someone's death. Especially when the event is so fresh in our minds due to having to relive it during the Awards.

    Just saying.

Anyways, I'm really wanting to see Slumdog now. It looks interesting.

I just wanna see slumdog because of all the controversy that surrounded it and determine if it was worth it or not.

Yeah, I think i'll have to watch it soon. In any case, though, Wall-E should have won at least one sound award.

Please do. It packages almost everything you would expect to see in a movie in a balanced fashion.

Already seen it. My advice: WATCH IT!

Rourke should've gotten the Oscar for it, seriously.
