Discuss if you think it's bad on ones reputation to be a porn star and or if it makes them a bad person for ensuing that career. Or if you think that it makes them sleazy. Also read http://www.counterpunch.org/nathan12112004.html if you will for an interview with a porn star and discuss if you think that porn is bad in general. (hope this isn't agaist the rules as I've been thinking about making it for awhile and just had the courage to do it)

Being a porn actor/actress is a viable career to me.

As long as they aren't being forced to do anything they'd rather not I don't really see the issue, if people want to do it. It's probably not the most noble but there are worse things you can do with your life.

As long as people don't judge you for your actions, I say it's just as fine to do it as any normal job. Hell, porn is making helluva lot of money and is getting alot more press than in it's old days.

I think it is commonly looked down upon, but it should not be.

I think it's a real career, and it makes a lot of money...but I think it gives people a bad reputation.

Working in porn and being a prostitute are two different things, y'know? I don't see working in porn as having a negative connotation these days, whereas working as a prostitute would. But then again, I guess it's all in the eyes of the beholder.

Agreed. I mean usually when porn stars start their career they tell very few people about their profession because they do not want a bad reputation.

Porn is certainly not the career of choice when you are having "career days" in middle and high school but it is a viable job choice. If you like sex and can perform in front of a camera and crew, why not? Is there a certain stigma attached to being a porn star, certainly there is one. I dont believe any successful porn actor/actress has crossed over to Hollywood success but that could be more to do with the hierarchy of the business than anything else. Does it parallel prostitution? It depends on where you live. In Germany or the Netherlands where prostitution is legal, its no big deal but here in the US we have yet to get over ourselves on what is and isnt appropriate.

I think Porn as a whole industry is solid. They have one of the largest gatherings in Vegas annually and with the exception of the current economic downturn it continues to grow annually. Sure it isnt for everyone but neither is horror movies or musicals so if you dont like it, dont watch it. ;)

I'm fine with porn and I personally don't see anything wrong with it so long as you're a responsible adult and you know to not let it negatively affect your relationships with people. I don't know if that idea works or not but that's how I see it. I really liked that interview with Christi Lake, I really got it.
