Dallas Green performed a new song Live recently, an amazing quality video surfaced and you can check it out here: CLICK ME I love it, thoughts?
It's going to sound strange, but up until this point, I had never even BOTHERED listening to anything by City and Colour. This song is changing that. I'm a big fan of acoustic acts, so I'm pretty sure you just introduced me to one of my new favorites. Thanks!
Oh man, City and Colour is AMAZING. Here are my recommendations from the first and second album to help get you hooked. Sometimes: Hello, I'm In Delaware Comin' Home Casey's Song Sometimes (I Wish) Bring Me Your Love: The Girl The Death Of Me Body In A Box Waiting... Against The Grain What Makes A Man?
I just saw them Saturday night, and they performed this. Dallas has such a fantastic voice. And the way they reworked some of the songs for the full band [Sam Malone] is the equivalent of ear sex.
I agree with everything there, + Sleeping Sickness from BMYL. That has to be one of the best songs ever involving Dallas. C&C, Alexisonfire and otherwise.
Dallas is amazing, I'd probably choose those two albums over anything you can find. You can really tell his music has changed when you listen to the songs he played just two years ago. There's the obvious differences between the two albums, but you can always notice smaller changes in how the songs were developed since live recordings. To me this song sounds like something of BMYL, but it'll probably be change in time. It seems songwriting comes very natural to Dallas, he doesn't seem to force it to sound like something, it just does and that's awesome. Also: Add Save Your Scissors, it is probably an obvious choice, but that's one amazing song. Coming Home and Sensible Heart are my favourites, though.
