What is the first song you played in the new year of 2009? Does the song have any significance to you? What impact does it have on you? How long did it take for you to think of which song to play?

It took me quite a while to decide on which song to play, it was between:
Craig Armstrong - Wake up in New York
    Allegri - Miserere
Alvo Part - Spiegel Im Spiegel

In the end Allegri's Miserere won and I'm listening to it right now, the song hasn't been in the family or has any special significance to me, but when I listen to it it just feels so pure, so resounding. Just makes me calm and very peaceful.

So, what's the first song you played this year?

I think the first one I put on would be...

Spectres by Halos just because it is such an epic song and I have been on a Halos craze lately.

    Muse- Glorious.

I wanted it to be a Muse song, and I thought I may as well open the new year with an epic one. Fantastic song, love it.

After that, I listened to I Was Made For You and Wanda (You're My Only Love) by Weezer, both of which rank among the bands best material. Strangely, none of these three songs were actually released on an album.

Kevin Rudolf featuring Lil Wayne - Let it Rock. My boss played it while DJing the party in the bowling alley I work at. (I was in the party, not working :p)
