Derek, that jacket is fucking amazing. Nick, that amp is fucking amazing. To everyone else: I'm glad you're all having great Christmases so far!
A Henrik Zetterberg Winter Classic Jersey, Call of Duty World at War for the Xbox360, Left 4 Dead for the Xbox360, NHL09 for the Xbox360, a Miami Ink Hoodie, a $50 Borders Gift Card, and a Target Gift Card so far. I still have to go to my dads on Sunday.
So I think I spent more money than I did get any. Freakin' pricks (not you, people who gave/didn't give me presents).
I ended up with the usual bathroom products from my Grandma (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, and aftershave). My parents ended up getting me The Dark Knight, Hancock, Taylor Swift's Fearless, a pair of fucking sweet Ohio State pajama pants, and a Grady Sizemore T-shirt. All in all, a good haul. Plus, I'm still going out to the mall this weekend to buy books, and they want me to get some new pants, haha.
I usually just buy what ever I want for myself. This year I bought myself a bunch of comic books, to catch up on season 8 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Getting a new microwave from my mom, it didn't arrive on time. Got an import LP cd, In the End Live and Rare. This is my best present though: Ebay is awesome =D My friend Adam is making me a series of photo manipulations.
I had a pretty crappy Christmas; instead of getting what I ask for, I get what I DEMANDED I wasn't given and some junk (okay, who gives someone BOOKMARKS for Christmas?!). The only real decent things I got was Sonic Unleashed for PS3 and Michael Crichton's The Lost World (though my mother couldn't find JP) and Next. Oh, and I've had to deal with a serious reaction to a flu shot; I woke my mom up at 4:30am with a feaver damn near 104...
Ummm....yeah...if you were my kid and you absolutely demanded you didn't get something, I'd make sure you got it, if you got anything at all. It's OK to give a wishlist, but anyone who makes demands like that deserves whatever they do or don't get. Ungrateful kids these days
To be fair, if someone insists they do NOT want something, then you give it to them as a gift and hope to get thanked you are just being a moron. Making demands on what you have to get is wrong. Being upset that you didn't get anything you wanted is normal though. Being annoyed that people got you exactly what you specified you did not desire is also normal. In short, demanding what you want is selfish, but so is buying people things you know they do not want. Because if you know they don't want them, then the only person you can be making happy when buying them is you.
I don't mean to interfere with happy thoughts, I just saw one member get openly and bluntly attacked in insulted by 2 others, thought it was unfair, and moved to (partially) defend him. EDIT: My apologies- her.
I'd be pretty annoyed at getting something I specifically asked not to get, too. That being said, Shenzi, you probably could have worded that post better, hence why Todd and Will made those comments.
I didn't mean to be a douche bag, and for that, I apologize, but there's no reason to complain about anything on Christmas, unless your grandmother mistakes you for a girl and buys you panties. But even then, you have to be nice and thank your grandma, and then put her crazy ass in a home, because she clearly doesn't know you're a boy. There. Some humor.
Oh wait...I think I have a tear to shed for you...nah sorry I don't cry for ungrateful selfish brats such as yourself. My advice to you: Grow up, get a life, stop being selfish and be happy you received anything at all. Do you realize how many people spent their Christmas homeless, or didn't even get one gift this year? If you could take some time out of your busy schedule, to stop thinking about yourself you would realize that you are very fortunate compared to other people in the world. Now, this is the last time we'll discuss this in this thread. You've already done enough to make yourself look bad, I don't think you need my help with looking worse. Now, happy thoughts!
To state your position in a debate then use your authority to prohibit any rebuttals is something I very strongly disagree with.
I got $300 from my grandma, from my parents I got LOST season 4 box set, a white and black sweater, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory DVD, Lars and the Real Girl DVD (a movie I was recommended in my film class), and from my friend David I got this awesome journal called "Wreck This Journal" where basically every page is something you have to do that basically destroys the whole journal in the end haha. It's bad ass. I have two more presents coming though that my friends are gonna give me.
