Holy shit. Even though I hate President Bush, it took way too long for that guy to be brought down. He should not have even gotten the second shoe thrown. What if it was knives or something? Not good.
Well, that's the point, isn't it? I don't think it's that simple to just happen to have a knife or anything like that in such a place. The guy obviously has been searched before getting in, so he found nothing but his shoes to throw.
I have to agree with you here. Yes the guy was searched, but all it would take is a well hidden grenade to be thrown at Bush and our current president would be dead. Just unacceptable. The fact the Secret Service took so long to take him down is a failure on the part of those elected to protect our president, and I cannot see those around him keeping their jobs much longer. They failed miserably. I mean what if he would've made a shoe bomb, or even worse...what if that was Barack Obama in Bush's spot and the journalist was just Anti-American? It's absolutely ridiculous and I hope Obama's protection is better than this.
I doubt they could have done much to stop that in the way of searching people, aside from having them remove every hard item of clothing they have on.
I saw that on the news earlier and in the video, you can clearly see Bush smirking. The reporter said he smirked and joked about it afterward.
I just saw Bush on the news claiming "I don't know what his beef is..." Douchebag. I think it's funny, the guy would've been fucking strip searched before going in, nothing worse than a bruise was ever gonna happen.
Well, if he threw a 'shoe-bomb', they would be too late aswell. So then it would be the fault of the security who was supposed to search everyone for bombs and stuff. And I doubt a metal-detector wouldnt detect a grenade And the guy risks 15 years of jail, attempt for murder. With a shoe. From a 15ft distance.
The security was probably so tight before they got in that there's no way he could have taken a shoe bomb in. The ordinary shoe was the only thing that he could use. And from what I've heard somebody offered a million dollars on the internet for just one of those shoes
A bomb or grenade probably would've never gotten past Secret Service. Security for those sorts of events is really tight, and everyone had to pass through metal detectors and maybe even put their shoes through an x-ray machine like at the airport. And considering there was only about 2 or 3 seconds between the first shoe and the second shoe, no one would've had time to react and take him down after the first shoe. I can't fault Secret Service for this. No one's expecting someone to throw a shoe, sounds like they've done everything they could short of making everyone attend the press conference naked.
http://www.time.com/time/photogallery/0,29307,1866765_1815160,00.html Pictures have surfaced of Obama smoking a doobie . While his past drug use was already admitted in the past, this proves he's an average American ahahaha.
I wonder if you'll say the same thing if someone attempts to harm Obama. You may not like the guy but wishing him harm is not a very mature way to get your point across.
Any flying projectile thrown hard enough can kill a person or give them a serious concussion if it strikes the right spot. Trust me. Especially if he wore boots and they were steel toed.
There definitely would have been a decent chance of Bush sustaining some kind of concussion had he been hit. You have to hand it to him though, he looked pretty agile.
Now c'mon people even if had wanted to really hurt Bush he couldn't have done it with a shoe. Throwing shoes at somebody in Iraq is considered an act of great disrespect and that's was the message he wanted to get across. Everybody knows that it would not do any good for anyone now if someone killed Bush or hurt him really bad. Then he would go down in history as a martyr, killed by terrorists he wanted to fight and not like an asshole that he is.
http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Whistleblower_explains_why_he_exposed_NSA_1216.html ^ just news in general. + As much as to bursts anyones hopes, Obama will obtain the same amount of security as Bush did, as much as people hate to think about it, or realize it. But, do keep your hopes up if you will.
Throwing shoes at people is such a lame thing to do, it's such a sign of weakness and desperation, he might as well have thrown his own excrements, like a monkey would've. Seriously, though, what did he expect that would happen? Kudos to Bush for dodging it so well and the way he dealt with the situation.
