What do you mean? "QWERTY" was a demo written and recorded during the "Minutes To Midnight" sessions, and, it was produced by Rick Rubin.

Well they wrote the live version on the way to Japan, and as Rick wasn't on the plane with them... We can kinda assume he didn't have any part in it.

Meteora doesnt really have a thick guitar sound. If anything, on that album the guitar is paper-thin and songs such as What I've Done have much more textured guitar.

Yeah thats basicly it. The story goes that LP were planing to play "Grecian" as the new song for the "Summer sonic" 2006. But for some reason it wasn't working out. Coincidently Phoneix came up with this other riff... the band liked it so much they desided to make it into a new song and scrap "Grecian" instead.

I pressume the band wrote the majority of it together on the plane - most certianly the lyrics were written during the trip - then they rehersed it a couple of times when they got to Japan, before the 2 shows.

and there you have it! QWERTY was born!

Though when it came to recording it during the MTM sessions, however the song didn't work as well as they thought in the stuidio. So they desdided to scrap it from the album.
Though LP knew the song had such a massive following, they descided to go ahead & record a version of it just for the LPU, to make up for the fact it werent gonna be on the album. Rick came up with a few suggestions to, ahem... "improve" it (i use that term losely) and they managed to record a decent demo for us to hear on LPU6. Thats really all the imput Rubin put in it. The orginal live version was pure LP - I'm certain of that.

and thats the breif history of QWERTY!

I think i have all my facts right. If not, ask Astat!!! :D

No wonder QWERTY live killed the studio version.

What in the hell happened to Joe? Seriously? And what about Mike's rapping? What, 2 songs with his rapping in M2M? Rediculous!

Also, i'd kinda like to see another OST or something like that.
Plus Cure For The Itch and Session have some good stuff with Joe that needs to come back.

What, his scratching? 'Cause that's pretty much all Joe does on those tracks. Personally, I think "Minutes To Midnight" was fine without heaps of scratching. :)

More creative scratching, further down the path of tracks like With You and In Pieces, would be good.

What do I want the album to be like?

Smush "Shadow of the Day", "No More Sorrow", "Hands Held High", and "The Little Things Give You Away" together.

Okay, not all in one song. But those sonic elements - deeper lyrics, a variety of instruments, the ability to both destroy eardrums with heavy rock/rhyme with the best MCs/and croon with the best lounge singers, and impressive musicianship.

A mush of Dedicated, High Voltage, Announcement Service Public, QWERTY, and In Pieces, and that one verse Chester sings in 'Rock N Roll (Could Never Hip Hop Like This) Part.2 would be effing brilliant.

What if LP play more Thrash and Mike puts his raps in it and Joe uses scratches in it, could be awesome :D
